Job Title : Lead Reservoir Engineer
Department : Technical
Grade : 7
Location : Lagos
Directly Reports to : AGM, Exploration & Development
Duration: Full-time
Supervises : Reservoir Engineers
JOB SUMMARY
To develop and mature OML 30 field development plans with the aim of growing asset production to at least 100Kbopd. The successful candidate will join a competent team of reservoir engineers responsible for championing reservoir management strategies to maximize the value of our oil and gas assets to both enhance hydrocarbon production and optimize field development (plans). He/she will mainly work in the Subsurface team and with the Petroleum Engineering Functions to address technical deliverables as assigned by the team leadership.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Participate in subsurface workflows, assurance processes and iterative methods to move from opportunity ID to execution.
2. Carry out reservoir simulation studies to evaluate reservoir performance and develop production enhancement strategies. This includes participating in the production and updating of the reservoir Dynamic Models, taking into consideration any contributions from other disciplines, with the aim of forecasting the production, its behaviour and identifying appropriate improvement actions.
3. Performing advanced reservoir modelling and characterization, integrating geological, petrophysical, and production data to identify reservoir potential.
4. Collaborate with other disciplines to identify and mature opportunities for increasing the recovery factor of the reservoirs. Define and carry out actions aimed at improving the well's productivity.
5. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers, to optimize reservoir performance.
6. Participate in calculating reserves and prepare supporting information for closing Reserves for the annual economic valuation of the project/asset.
7. Contributing to reservoir surveillance and monitoring programs to ensure optimal production and recovery rates.
8. Plan the number of development wells, their type and characteristics, in accordance with the project's geological, logistical and technical complexity.
9. Continuously monitor reservoir production and behavior, its decline and the evolution of key parameters such as the Gas-Oil Ratio (GOR) and Water-Oil Ratio (WOR): with the aim of taking actions for the optimization of the exploitation plan.
QUALIFICATION
1. BSc. in Petroleum Engineering or other related engineering degrees. Advanced degrees will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience in reservoir development & management, reserves estimation and Reservoir Simulation Modelling.
3. Working knowledge level of PetrelRE, Eclipse (or tNavigator), Sapphire, and Mbal is required.
4. Good Knowledge of IPM, Prosper, OFM will be added advantage.
