    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>This position is a manufacturing engineering sustaining role responsible for Coherent Laser Light Engine products.&nbsp;<br>\n  The high-level goals for this position are direct engineering support of a manufacturing line to implement cost reduction and yield improvement measures whilst maintaining high quality levels and product output to meet demand in a Continual Improvement environment.</p>\n<p><b><u>Primary Skill Set and Responsibilities</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated hands-on technical ability and manufacturing engineering support ownership for a high-tech photonic manufacturing line that includes process and fixture development for builds with exacting diode laser beam shaping and control for free space and fiber coupled output.</li>\n <li>Proven record of successfully using robust data analysis in a high-tech manufacturing environment to drive down costs and improve FPY while upholding or improving product quality and performance.</li>\n <li>Experienced in applying problem solving techniques to ascertain root causes of issues and implementing robust formal corrective action plans with 8D format report outs.</li>\n <li>Create and maintain detailed work instructions to support equipment operation and processes and provide training for production staff.</li>\n <li>Comfortable having collaborative discussions on technical issues across a range of audiences such as manufacturing staff, manufacturing engineers, R&amp;D engineers, senior management, vendors, customers and overseas manufacturing facilities.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 6σ, structured problem solving, Toyota PS, SPC and Continuous Improvement methodologies.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with documentation control, BoMs, NCRs, PMs, FAIs, capacity planning &amp; capex procurement, instrument calibration, regulatory issues (eg RoHS, REACH).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Education &amp; Experience</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li><b>MUST HAVE:</b> Minimum 5yr. experience in high-tech photonic manufacturing environment.</li>\n <li>BS/MS Optics, Optoelectronics, Physics or equivalent degree.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Experience in these areas will be an advantage:</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Automation for the builds of precision optical alignment systems.</li>\n <li>MRP planning systems and Bill of Material structures. Oracle ability preferred.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>QMS IS0-9001.</li>\n <li>Electronics, basic PCBA circuit troubleshooting.</li>\n <li>Statistical analysis software, i.e.: Minitab or JMP.</li>\n <li>Programming skills, in particular LabView.</li>\n <li>3D Printing.</li>\n <li>LSO (Laser Safety Officer), current or expired certification.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Working Conditions</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Onsite, Monday-Friday</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Safety Requirements</u></b></p>\n<p>All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
