At each of the five program areas (aquatics, leadership, sports, knowledge is power, and art) campers engage in quality programming and learn the skills they need to succeed outside of camp. Our core values of fun, respect, responsibility, character, courage, and community drive the camp experience and create a safe, fun environment for campers to develop as young leaders. We strive to build a staff and board that is reflective of the communities that we serve.</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>ROLE</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Title/Position:</span></span></span><br><span><span>Camp Nurse</span><br><span>(RN or LPN)</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Reports to:</span></span></span><br><span><span>Camp </span><span>Director</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Location:</span></span></span><br><span><span>Camp Harbor View, Long Island, Boston MA (ferry transportation provided)</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Hours:</span></span></span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Camp runs June 29-August 21, 8:15am to 4:30pm, pre season hours will be discussed in interview</span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Collect, retain and review the health records of campers and staff as required by the MA Department of Health summer camp regulations and American Camp Association (ACA) standards prior to each camp session to ensure physicals are dated within 18 months and all necessary immunizations are </span><span>recorded;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Train appropriate camp staff in the administration of medication as needed, </span><span>including, but not limited to,</span><span> off-site </span><span>trips;</span><span> </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Train all staff in camp-specific health policies and </span><span>procedures;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Communicate all health needs to the appropriate staff, including dietary restrictions, medication administration times, and conditions which require careful attention, such as asthma, allergies, and </span><span>diabetes;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Provide care to campers who go to the health center following an injury or showing signs of </span><span>illness;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Communicate with families when a child appears ill at camp or sustains an injury that may require additional </span><span>attention;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Manage documentation for all health care visits, meeting standards set by the MA Department of Public Health and ACA, including all administration of medications and care provided to campers;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Communicate with the Aquatics Director to ensure that all care given at the pool is documented with the health center;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Create first aid kits to be distributed to each program area and all buildings and vehicles, regularly review</span><span>ing</span><span> the contents </span><span>refilling</span><span> as necessary;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Arrange for emergency transportation as </span><span>needed;</span><span> </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Manag</span><span>e</span><span> the organization and inventory of the health center, creating and using systems that track supply usage, needs, and camper/staff visits; </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Collaborate with the Family Services and Clinical teams to refer campers to outside resources as needed; </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Communicate with the Health Care Consultant as needed;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Support the development and growth of a positive camp culture by providing additional support to campers and colleagues as needed and at community-wide events, including, but not limited to, performances, lunch, and the ferry; and</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Other duties that support the Camp Harbor View community as needed.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>QUALIFICATIONS</span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner</span><span>, </span><span>LPN,</span><br><span>or Physician’s </span><span>Assistant;</span><span> </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Current Basic Life Support and Basic First Aid certifications </span><span>required;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Experience working in a camp or school setting </span><span>preferred;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Experience working in pediatric medicine </span><span>preferred;</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </span><span>required;</span><span> </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds;
