    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Career opportunities abound at SOUND</strong>SOUND Behavioral Health is growing, and we are hiring an ARNP or Physician Assistant in King County, WA! </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>SOUND is one of King County’s most comprehensive providers of quality mental health and addiction treatment services, supporting our area’s most vulnerable populations. A central tenet of our work is Reaching Recovery, an evidence-based clinical care model.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is a professional-level position intended to provide psychiatric services in our agency through the prescribing and monitoring of medications, evaluation of psychiatric status, and consultation to non-medical team members. This is primarily a clinical position, and incumbents will spend the majority of their time seeing patients, with the same productivity standards and same scheduling guidelines as physicians. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is a part-time position that is split between our Tukwila and Bellevue clinics. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Part-time, 32 hours per week. Four 8-hour shifts per week from 8:00am-5:00pm on weekdays. </p>\n<p><strong>Location:</strong> 2 days a week at our Tukwila Clinic (6400 Southcenter Blvd Tukwila, Washington 98188) and 2 days a week at our Bellevue Clinic (13555 Bel-Red Road Suite 228 Bellevue, Washington 98005).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em><strong>Accepting applications until June 22. </strong></em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Independently evaluate patients for the purpose of determining a differential, psychiatric diagnosis, and biopsychosocial case formulation. </li>\n <li>Assess patients for psychiatric/psychotropic medication necessity.</li>\n <li>Prescribe the psychiatric or psychotropic medications, which are within his/her licensing purview.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with program manager in assigned programs to facilitate integration of medical issues with overall treatment planning</li>\n <li>Screen patients for concurrent non-psychiatric medical conditions and refer for appropriate care.</li>\n <li>Order all appropriate laboratory tests to determine a differential diagnosis and assure safe prescription of medications.</li>\n <li>Assess for medication side effects and treat when appropriate, following guidelines set by accepted professional standards and any other applicable standards of care.</li>\n <li>Consult with the treatment teams or other agency and non-agency providers on issues related to an individual patient's treatment and overall treatment planning. Liaison with primary care physicians and their staff.</li>\n <li>Attend and participate in medical staff meetings, as required.</li>\n <li>Obtain supervision, consultation or guidance by an agency psychiatrist or the medical director in cases as needed.</li>\n <li>Maintain clinical records in accordance with agency policy.</li>\n <li>Perform other functions, e.g. teaching, supervision of nursing staff and students, inter- and interagency committee responsibilities, as assigned. These responsibilities may include the provision of group staff consultations without the presence of a staff psychiatrist. </li>\n <li>Understand recovery concepts in behavioral health.</li>\n <li>Apply recovery concepts, as appropriate to clinical work at Sound.</li>\n <li>Synthesize and demonstrate recovery concepts in clinical work at Sound.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KEY WORK RELATIONSHIPS</strong></p>\n<p>Establishes and maintains positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with clinical team members, clients, and outside organizations. Relates to a wide variety of people, including members of ethnic and sexual minority populations, and is respectful of individual and cultural differences.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<p>At least two (2) years of previous experience prescribing psychotropic medications is <strong>required</strong>, preferably in a community mental health setting.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For ARNP:</p>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience prescribing psychotropic medications is desirable, especially within a community mental health setting.</li>\n <li>If the position is to work with children, then child ARNP certification is necessary or adult certification with child prescribing experience and intent to be certified in child.</li>\n <li>If the position is mainly to work with adults or older adults, then adult ARNP certification is required, with corresponding experience desirable.</li>\n <li>This individual should be comfortable being supervised by physicians and functioning collaboratively with other team members.</li>\n <li>Ability to be reimbursed for services by Medicare and Medicaid is required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current nursing license in the State of Washington required</li>\n <li>Current license to prescribe medicine in the State of Washington required.</li>\n <li>Current license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Washington State required.</li>\n <li>DEA for WA State required. </li>\n <li>Must pass a criminal background check.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>For Physician Assistant:</p>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience prescribing psychotropic medications is desirable, especially within a community mental health setting.</li>\n <li>If the position is to work with children, then child PA certification is necessary or adult certification with child prescribing experience and intent to be certified in child.</li>\n <li>If the position is mainly to work with adults or older adults, then adult PA certification is required, with corresponding experience desirable.</li>\n <li>This individual should be comfortable being supervised by physicians and functioning collaboratively with other team members.</li>\n <li>Ability to be reimbursed for services by Medicare and Medicaid is required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current license to prescribe medicine in the State of Washington required.</li>\n <li>Current license as an Physician Assistant in Washington State required.</li>\n <li>DEA for WA State required. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p>\n<p>To successfully perform the essential duties of this Job, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day.
