Athletic Director</span></span></p><p style=\"tab-stops:1.25in;\"><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\"><strong>PURPOSE OF POSITION</strong>:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">The purpose of this position is to provide leadership for the Trap Shooting Club at Dordt University, which will support the mission of the university, as well as bring a knowledge and passion of trap shooting to students, with a commitment to excellence and bringing glory to God.</span></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\"><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></span></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;padding-left:72px;\"><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Responsible for the overall administration and organization of this club sport.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Responsible for the scripting and preparation of all practices.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Recruiting student athletes including telephone and email communication, as well as off-campus school and home visits when necessary.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Responsible for arranging the competition schedule, practice schedules, club travel arrangements, and equipment and facility maintenance.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Responsible for developing activities to encourage character development and spiritual growth of the participants.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Collaborate with the team captains to organize practices, coordinate travel arrangements, lead meetings, and organize fundraising opportunities.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.</span></span></li></ul><p style=\"tab-stops:.25in .75in 1.25in 1.75in 2.25in 2.75in 3.25in 3.75in 4.25in 4.75in 5.25in 5.75in 6.25in;\"><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\"><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</strong></span></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px;\"><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Prospective members of the Dordt University community are expected to agree with its sexuality, gender identity, and sexual conduct policy which can be found on the DU website (contact the HR Office if you need additional information).</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Bachelor's degree preferred.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Must be knowledgeable in and have the ability to coach trap shooting.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Successful coaching experience at the high school or university level is desired.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Strong organizational and coordination skills.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family:Lora;\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;\">Excellent communication and leadership skills to lead a team and establish strong relationships on campus, in the community, and with parents, alumni and other fiends of the university.</span></span></li></ul>",
