TPS teachers are passionate about serving urban scholars. They have the utmost respect for their scholars and their families, and are absolutely committed to their scholars’ academic and personal development and success. TPS teachers believe deeply in the importance of the social and emotional development of young people and are committed to demonstrating that belief daily. They work together, learn from each other, and do whatever it takes, day in and day out, to make sure their scholars succeed. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Build strong relationships with scholars, families, administrators, and PATH team members.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Display an understanding of The PATH School's vision, mission, and core values.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Invest in the learners’ well-being, health, and safety, physically, socially, and emotionally.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Explore resources, materials, tools, and information to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Provide direct instruction in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to students.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Complete assessments, reports, grading, planning, and conferences with students, staff, and families within appropriate timelines.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Administer standardized ability and achievement tests and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Use a variety of instructional methodologies, culturally responsive pedagogy, and curriculum resources to present material in an engaging, stimulating, and effective manner.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ensure proper implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessment, Behavior Intervention Plans, Individualized Education, and 504 programs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Communicate with parents/guardians regularly to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their resource needs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Manage scholar behavior and maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and systems of the school.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Perform administrative duties, such as assisting in hall and cafeteria monitoring, and bus loading and unloading.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Valid Indiana Teaching License or seeking reciprocation (Required)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Bachelor’s degree (Required)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Pass a criminal background check (Required)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">The ability to develop caring relationships with scholars and families</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Experience in analyzing student data and using data to inform instruction </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Possess strong knowledge and passion for content areas: English/Language Arts, Mathematics, and Phonics</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Excellent communication, superior listening skills, organizational skills, and decision-making ability</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">EXPECTATIONS</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Participate in school-wide and individual professional development, including two weeks during the summer and weekly department meetings</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Attend and participate in events outside of normal school hours (ex. family nights, student performances, field trips, family conferences, Back-to-School Nights, etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis, Monday -
