The Continuous Improvement Specialist (Assembly) focuses on the Expansion, Assembly, Paint & Test Operations and is responsible for driving process optimization, standardization, and performance improvement across the areas to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost through structured problem solving, lean methodologies, and data-driven decision-making. The position ensures consistent processes, strong shop floor engagement, and sustainable improvements that support operational excellence and long-term business objectives.  This role is located in <strong>Verona, VA</strong> and will be fully on-site. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Continuous Improvement Specialist (Assembly) </strong><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead continuous improvement initiatives within highly technical assembly, painting, and testing processes.</li>\n <li>Identify and scope assembly, paint, and test-focused improvement opportunities that drive measurable gains in safety, product quality, throughput, and cost reduction.</li>\n <li>Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies such as TPM, Six Sigma, 5S, 3P, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping specifically within assembly lines, coating operations, and product testing environments.</li>\n <li>Develop and implement standardized assembly SOPs, and test procedures to ensure repeatability, compliance, and process stability.</li>\n <li>Track and report key assembly, paint, and testing performance metrics including First Pass Yield (FPY), defect and rework rates, line efficiency, takt adherence, paint utilization, scrap, equipment uptime, OEE, and test cycle performance.</li>\n <li>Track, monitor, and report on the results of each project to ensure execution of timelines, deliverables, and defined performance targets.</li>\n <li>Develop and facilitate improved shop floor relationships that encourage increased participation in the overall improvement process, including roundtable discussions, cross-functional improvement teams, operator engagement initiatives, and structured problem-solving events.</li>\n <li>Support capital improvement initiatives related to assembly tooling, material handling systems, paint booths and curing systems, testing equipment, and automation upgrades.</li>\n <li>Assist Engineering Leadership in strategic planning efforts aligned with continuous improvement objectives and operational performance goals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Continuous Improvement Specialist (Assembly) Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree preferred.</li>\n <li>Six Sigma Certification preferred.</li>\n <li>Extensive hands-on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement implementation and facilitation experience.</li>\n <li>5+ years of experience driving Continuous Improvement in a manufacturing environment.</li>\n <li>Experience creating and implementing SOP’s.</li>\n <li>Strong team building and facilitation, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.</li>\n <li>High energy and passion for continuous improvement is required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Joining Wieland’s team gives you…</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Benefits</strong> - <strong>Starting on Day 1! </strong>Including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life & more!</li>\n <li><strong>Retirement Savings</strong> - 401(k) contribution + match.</li>\n <li><strong>Work/Life Balance</strong> - Paid Vacation & Holidays.</li>\n <li><strong>Growth Opportunities</strong> - We have over 9,000+ employees worldwide and 40+ locations in North America alone.
