This position requires the ability to juggle competing priorities and a wide range of topics: municipal governments, court cases, law enforcement issues, local communities and personalities, and more.</p><p><strong>Job responsibilities:</strong></p><ol><li>Bring energy and enthusiasm to looking beyond the surface to break news and tell impactful stories;</li><li>Produce daily and longer-term enterprise content — including features as well as data-driven investigative pieces — for use across multiple platforms with a digital-first mindset;</li><li>Create photos, videos, social media posts as essential elements of &nbsp;multi-dimensional storytelling;</li><li>Work collaboratively and collegially with reporters, photographers, editors and producers, and approach the use of new technology such as AI tools in responsible and creative ways.<br>&nbsp;</li></ol><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of three years working as a daily news reporter;</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, history, political science or equivalent experience preferred;</li><li>Strong, clear, accurate writing ability that demonstrates attention to detail and grammar;</li><li>Strong news judgment;</li><li>Ability to confront officials, handle difficult conversations and hold people accountable;</li><li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>If this sounds like a challenge you’d love to take on, we want to hear from you!&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About Times Union:</strong><br>Based in Albany, the Times Union (www.timesunion.com) is the leading news organization in New York’s Capital Region, Hudson Valley and beyond.
