    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION</strong></p>\n<p>VHB’s Site Investigation & Remediation team is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Environmental Engineer to join our Watertown, Massachusetts office. If you’re interested in making a positive impact, opportunities to grow personally and professionally, and making smart new friends – we’d love to have you join us.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collect Field Data and Manage/Interpret Data (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, soil gas)</li>\n <li>Conduct Site Investigations including ASTM Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments while Leveraging Technology to Support Data Management and Visualization</li>\n <li>Conduct and Document Research at State and Municipal Agencies</li>\n <li>Conduct Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Inspections and prepare SPCC Plans</li>\n <li>Provide Field Support including Construction Observations and Documentation of Remediation Projects</li>\n <li>Write Technical Reports, Correspondence, Notes and Memoranda</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills & Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work in office and field settings (this position requires traveling within Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and nearby states to collect data)</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li>Motivated with abilities to problem solve and work independently</li>\n <li>Documents work in a detailed manner and keeps data and other information organized</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of MassDEP Massachusetts Contingency Plan regulations and guidance, and NHDES Regulations, prior experience with SPCC and SWPPP inspections a plus</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro and EQuIS or other laboratory data management software a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science/Geoscience, or Environmental Engineering</li>\n <li>0-1 year of professional environmental/remediation consulting experience required</li>\n <li>OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $64,000-73,000.
