This role involves executing both standard and specialized testing to advance research objectives. Under the guidance of the Senior Analytical Chemist and Technical Director, the technician will contribute to critical projects focused on chitin extraction and innovative chitosan manufacturing processes.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Must operate and work within our Mission-Driven Culture Core Values and Principles and encourage others to do the same</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Collaborate with the Foundational Research Team to achieve research goals through analytical support</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Perform chemical analysis as directed by the Senior Analytical Chemist</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Perform chemical analysis by GPC, FTIR, UV-Vis, titration, total nitrogen by combustion, thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic viscosity, and any other required to support Foundational Research.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and results</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Develop and validate new testing methodologies as directed by the Senior Analytical Chemist</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Conduct directed and self-directed literature reviews</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Prioritize laboratory safety, workplace cleanliness, green chemistry, and sustainable industrial practices</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Provide and receive regular feedback</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><br><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Basic Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Bachelor's degree or above in Chemistry, or related field involving laboratory sciences and analytical chemistry</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">And/or significant (2+ years) laboratory experience with strongly evident analytical chemistry experience</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Excellent written and verbal communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to work independently and as part of a team</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Positive attitude towards sustainable and green practices</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Licensing &amp; Special Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Subject to a criminal background check.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Working Conditions:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Most of the work is performed in a lab/office environment.
