Some of these events include NASCAR, drag racing, Sonoma Drift, motorcycles, the racing school, and much more! Members come from a variety of fire service backgrounds including active or retired firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs. We also welcome those that are wishing to start a career in the&nbsp;</p><p>fire service to apply as well.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The ideal candidate will adopt a GLOBE mentality. GLOBE stands for Generously Lending Our Best Efforts. This is done by holding themselves and their teammates accountable for taking our best practices &ldquo;the last mile&rdquo; &ndash; optimizing them for maximum value to all of our stakeholders while sharing insights on how to improve our company. The ideal candidate will also be a productive and proactive self-starter who is passionate about his/her duties and willing to put forth the extra effort in pursuit of achieving excellence.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Respond to emergency incidents on-track</li><li>Provide fire suppression and vehicle extrication as needed for incidents on the course</li><li>Provide EMS services to parties involved in an incident&nbsp;</li><li>Communicate with Race Control on track conditions that may affect drivers&rsquo; ability to race safely</li><li>Coordinate recovery and restoration efforts of the race track when an incident occurs</li><li>Qualifications</li><li>Must be at least 18 years of age or older</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license</li><li>State Certified Firefighter 1 or similar Firefighter experience/training&nbsp;</li><li>EMT-B</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><p>Fire/Safety members must have the mobility to complete the following:&nbsp;</p><ul><li><strong><em>Physical</em></strong>: pulling and pushing objects, sitting, standing, walking on uneven or slippery surfaces,&nbsp;</li><li>kneeling, bending, twisting, turning, stooping, and squatting</li><li><strong><em>Lifting</em></strong>: moving and lifting equipment and objects weighing over 100 pounds</li><li><strong><em>Environmental</em></strong>: Must be willing to work in adverse conditions and potentially life-threatening&nbsp;</li><li>emergencies: subject to odors, dust, pollen, chemicals, skin irritants, and fumes.</li><li><strong><em>Cognitive</em></strong>: Have good hearing and vision, capability to speak loud in noisy environments as well&nbsp;</li><li>as communicate clearly over a radio</li><li>Ability to work calmly and accurately in stressful situations.</li></ul><p><strong><u>&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p><strong>SCHEDULE:</strong></p><p>Sonoma Raceway holds events 340 days per year. Every event requires Fire/Safety ready to respond to an incident that may occur. Each month Fire/Safety members input their availability on an online schedule. Assignments will be made once we have determined the amount of coverage needed.
