Highly hands-on technical role with strategic architectural exposure. You'll help customers deploy and operationalize API Security solutions as their primary role.</p><p><b>Become a technical influencer</b></p><p>You'll work beyond a single product helping customers understand how Akamai technologies work together. Delivering end-to-end application and API protection. Ideal for engineers and architects troubleshooting deep technical problems while also growing into broader enterprise architecture and security strategy. Guiding broader security and application modernization initiatives across API Security, WAAP/WAF, CDN, Bot Management, AI-powered protections, Zero Trust, and cloud security</p><p>As an Enterprise Architect - Web, you will be responsible for:</p><ul><li class=\"lst\">Designing and implement scalable Application and API Security architectures across enterprise environments</li><li class=\"lst\">Partnering with customer engineering, DevOps, cloud, networking, and security teams to deploy and operationalize Akamai solutions</li><li class=\"lst\">Troubleshooting complex issues involving:Kubernetes, Cloud infrastructure, Networking, API gateways, Authentication flows, Hybrid architectures, Distributed applications</li><li class=\"lst\">Integrating Akamai API Security solutions with:Kubernetes platforms, API gateways, WAF/WAAP solutions, CDN architectures, SIEM and observability platforms, CI/CD pipelines</li><li class=\"lst\">Analyzing API traffic and application behavior to identify:Misconfigurations, Authentication gaps, Performance bottlenecks</li><li class=\"lst\">Developing enterprise architecture diagrams, integration patterns, deployment plans, and operational runbooks</li><li class=\"lst\">Leading customer workshops, technical enablement sessions, and architectural reviews</li></ul><p><b>Do what you love</b></p><p>To be successful in this role you will:</p><ul><li class=\"lst\">Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent 7+ years of technical engineering/architecture function in enterprise environments</li><li class=\"lst\">Have 2+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as: Enterprise/Solutions Architect, Solutions/Platform/Site Reliability/Cloud Dev Sec Ops Engineering</li><li class=\"lst\">Have hands-on experience with: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Linux systems and with one or more major cloud platforms such as:AWS, Azure, GCP</li><li class=\"lst\">Have understanding of networking fundamentals including:TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/SSLHTTP/S,, Load balancing, Reverse proxies, Routing</li><li class=\"lst\">Have experience troubleshooting distributed cloud-native applications and debugging skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers</li><li class=\"lst\">Understand modern API technologies including:RESTful API's, OAuth/JWT, API authentication and authorization</li><li class=\"lst\">Have experience with:API gatewaysIngress controllers, Reverse proxies, WAF/WAAP technologies</li><li class=\"lst\">Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders</li></ul><p><b>About us</b></p><p>At Akamai, we make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day.<br />Whether you're streaming live events, scrolling social media, watching your favorite series, or managing your savings, we're the engine behind the scenes. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 - $215,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
