Job mission: As part of our Sidewalk Team you will work hand in hand with other team members assisting in treating and clearing paved surfaces. Working as a team helps ease the work on all members as well as efficiently treating work sites. Heavy equipment and plows are regularly operating during events. Safety on contracted sites is our top priority, not just for our clients but for our staff as well. Orange reflective waterproof jackets are provided to members upon arrival of their shift so they are seen on site throughout the event. As a sidewalk team member experience is not necessary, but general knowledge of snowstorms and cleanup are helpful! Hands on training is provided to all team members at the start of employment and throughout the year. Although this position is seasonal there is room for growth with Snowscapes! Sidewalk Team Member Position Responsibilities: Using shovels, push plow or snow blowers to clear snow from paved surfaces (sidewalks, entrances, stairs, mailboxes, fire hydrants, loading docks, etc.) Utilize equipment in a safe manner Read and understand snow maps Spread salt and deicers utilizing spreaders and other approved methods Utilize push plows and other snow removal equipment safely Return equipment and safety gear to its designed area when finished Report any accidents, incidents, and equipment failures to supervisor immediately May be required to work long shifts (either days or nights) during precipitation events and snowstorms May be required to be available for emergency response as needed for overtime at night evenings, weekends, and holidays Effectively communicate with office team confirming scheduling availability Be available and arrive on time when scheduled Benefits: Weekly payment Direct Deposit High Starting Pay Safety Gear Hands on Training Referral Bonus Opportunity to grow Starting Pay: $30 an hour Qualifications: Entry level position Dependable with a flexible schedule from November to April Must have own transportation to and from the job site Understand and be familiar with proper sidewalk clearing techniques Available to work long hours to complete snow removal and cleanup Available to work nights, weekends and holidays when needed Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work. Physical Demands Employees are regularly required to stand; sit; walk on a wide range of surfaces; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions which require bring extra clothes, boots, gloves and any other needed to keep yourself warm and dry.
