Job Title: CNC Programmer 2 Advance

Job Type: Exempt Full-Time, 1st shift Monday-Through Friday
The Role At Fisher Barton, we don’t just make parts; we provide solutions for the world’s most demanding environments. As a CNC Programmer 2 for our ASI division, you will be the bridge between complex engineering blueprints and physical reality. You’ll be responsible for developing high-precision programs for a variety of turning machines ( Swiss, VTM, Horizontal ), ensuring our components meet the standards our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities Advanced CAD/CAM Programming: Write, edit, and optimize complex CNC programs for multi-axis turning centers (including live tooling, sub-spindle, twin turret, Y-axis, and B-axis configurations) utilizing CAM software. Program Development: Create, test, and optimize CNC programs for lathes using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam & SolidWorks). Process Optimization: Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and work-holding fixtures to maximize efficiency and minimize tool wear. Blueprint Analysis: Interpret complex technical drawings and 3D models, applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ( GD&T ) to ensure 100% accuracy. Shop Floor Collaboration: Work closely with Machinists and Set-up Operators to prove out new programs and troubleshoot issues in real-time. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times and improve part quality through innovative programming techniques. What You’ll Need (Qualifications) Experience: 10 years minimum of experience in CNC programming within a high-precision manufacturing environment that has ISO:9001 accreditation. Education: Technical Apprenticeship, Journeyman Card, Associates Degree, or Technical Diploma. Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks). Technical Literacy: Expert-level ability to read blueprints and a deep understanding of GD&T standards. Tooling Knowledge: Strong grasp of metallurgy and the specific tooling requirements for machining high-wear materials. Problem-Solving: A "first-time-right" mentality with the ability to troubleshoot G-code and M-code at the machine controller.
