With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Composite Material Cutting Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing material cutting operations to support production. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in pre-preg cutting, ply orientation and material handling, but not required. Additionally, proficiency in inventory tracking, understanding of cutting/ nesting software, and strong organization are necessary for this role.  Joby Aviation is dedicated to training and developing individuals with potential, and we are looking for apprentices who are eager to learn and grow within our company.   </p>\n<p>As a Senior Material Cutting Technician, you will not only be responsible for executing complex part builds with precision but will also train and mentor other technicians. Your extensive knowledge and experience in composite kitting operations will be invaluable in guiding and supporting the professional development of your colleagues. Joby Aviation is dedicated to training and developing individuals with potential, and we are looking for apprentices who are eager to learn and grow within our company. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>1st shift Monday - Thursday: 7am-5:30pm2nd shift Monday-Thursday: 5:30pm-4:00am3rd shift: Friday-Sunday 6:00am-6:30pm</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Pull raw materials from freezer containers and track out-life adjustments and cure by dates through designated material tracker.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Use of computer to nest kitting line up, part ID printing, and operation of material cutting machine.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Required attention to detail to properly sort, kit, label and store kits.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Support Hand Layup team by filling consumables throughout the shop  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Efficiently manage time to ensure all tasks are completed prior to end of shift.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate material adjustments with Inventory and Receiving, track material usage, discard materials properly, and ensure compliance to standard procedures.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrate understanding of composite pre-preg materials and various other kitted materials (ie. R&D materials, mylar, ToolTec, ect).  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Support in process development and system improvements.  </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>HS Diploma or GED Equivalent </li>\n <li>4+ years of CNC or material cutting machine operation experience, specifically ZUND Machines and use of Mindcut, Cutting Centers, ect and demonstrated abilities to develop process, train team members, and high-level problem-solving skills.   </li>\n <li>Ability to handle complex assignments and work independently with a high level of initiative to resolve issues.   </li>\n <li>4+ years of Catia or CPD software experience  </li>\n <li>4+ years of applicable manufacturing experience, preferably aerospace.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must wear PPE when required. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials and able to become certified to wear a respirator.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to become forklift, crane, or equipment certified </li>\n <li>Must be able to continuously stand, squatt bend, pull, twist, and lift throughout the workday. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The target base pay for this position is $32-$44/hr.
