    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Responsible for managing a Workers Compensation case load from inception to resolution in the stat of Florida. Responsibilities include pre-trial discovery, drafting pleadings, communicating with involved parties, and presenting defense strategies in court. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Independently represents the Insured before the assigned Court and presents witnesses and evidence on litigated claims.</li>\n <li>Analyzes complex legal and factual issues, conducts extensive, well-reasoned legal research, independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of the Employer/Carrier.</li>\n <li>Prepares pleadings, written discovery, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies.</li>\n <li>Prepares for, attends and handles all case-related activities including full trial and/or second seating, as assigned.</li>\n <li>Provides effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and other services to clients and claims professionals on legal and factual issues.</li>\n <li>Position requires the use of independent judgment, research, litigation and analytical skills.</li>\n <li>Assists in developing training materials and presenting seminars for the Claim Department.</li>\n <li>Works with the Claim Department and Litigation Department on special projects related to the practice or line of business as needed.</li>\n <li>Communicates with the Court, witnesses, opposing counsel and clients in a manner consistent with established office procedures and the Code of Professional Conduct.</li>\n <li>Responsible for the prompt, efficient and effective disposition of assigned cases.</li>\n <li>Potential supervision of and responsibility for the work of junior attorneys as well as support of their professional development in the practice of law.</li>\n <li>Keeps current with market trends and demands. Attends continuing legal education seminars in order to maintain high level of professional expertise. </li>\n <li>Keeps current with market trends and demands.</li>\n <li>Performs other functionally related duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Florida State licensed attorney</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Workers Compensation State laws and circuit court rules and procedures</li>\n <li>Strong legal research and writing skills</li>\n <li>3+ years' relevant practice group litigation experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Multi-state Bar admittance </li>\n <li>Experience developing relationships with claims professionals and employers</li>\n <li>Experience mentoring and developing junior attorneys is a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This job description is designed to provide a general overview of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that will be required in this position.
