Description

Siemens is a leading global software company dedicated to the world of computer aided design, 3D modeling and simulation— helping innovative global manufacturers design better products, faster! With the resources of a large company, and the energy of a software start-up, we have fun together while creating a world class software portfolio. Our culture encourages creativity, welcomes fresh thinking, and focuses on growth, so our people, our business, and our customers can achieve their full potential. RapidMiner SLC provides a replacement for SAS language that allows SAS customers to move to a flexible, modern analytics platform with minimal business impact. SLC runs programs written in SAS language and provides a visual workflow development environment as well. It also supports Python, R, and SQL, and allows combining code written in any of these languages — making it the perfect way to facilitate major modernization projects as well as maintain libraries of Base SAS language programs at reduced cost. Siemens Digital Industries Software (DISW) has recently split its global services delivery model into zones, and with change comes opportunity! We are seeking a highly motivated individual for Solution Architect position to deliver services in the Americas for the SLC product. The SLC Solution Architect is a hands-on role who will ramp up to become proficient in all aspects of an SLC migration project. Responsibilities: Perform discovery with customers to understand their existing SAS environment with the key goal of determining migration feasibility. • Analysis of existing SAS language programs, working with product development and data science teams to determine effort/duration requirements for any custom development. • Analyze existing SAS infrastructure, understand target requirements from customers taking into consideration any modernization needs, and prepare a recommended target architecture. • Determine customer use cases of unsupported language elements and software modules, preparing a ‘route to live’. • Attend customer stand-ups and project review meetings and be the face of Siemens’ RapidMiner SLC. • Technical delivery of migration projects including but not limited to: o Deployment and configuration of SLC software in customer environments. o Configuration of 3rd party applications/drivers/DBs required by SLC. o Train customer system admins on the effective use of SLC/HUB as required. o Train customer migration delivery teams on best practices for code migration. o Triage technical issues to ensure prompt resolution, working with L2 support. o Requirements scoping, defects analysis and working with product management and engineering when required to oversee deployment of maintenance builds/bug fixes. o Travel to client locations on an infrequent but as-needed basis.
