You must be comfortable operating lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers, and understand how to water, fertilize, and prune decorative shrubs and plants. We pride ourselves in keeping our exterior safe and looking beautiful, so our team works in various types of weather conditions and performs maintenance duties to ensure employee safety during inclement weather by removing debris, snow, and ice from communal walkways and spaces.</p><p><em data-pasted=\"true\">Schedule;</em></p><ul><li>Monday through Friday: 8:00am to 4:30pm</li></ul><p><em>Duties/Responsibilities:</em></p><ul><li>Mow grass and prune trees and shrubs</li><li>Treat lawn and landscaping with pesticides to remove harmful insects</li><li>Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival</li><li>Rake fallen leaves and remove debris</li><li>Oversee maintenance repairs to equipment, landscape structures</li><li>Follows written and verbal instructions from the crew leader and clients.</li><li>Plants new flowers, trees, grass, hedges, and bushes.</li><li>Maintains gardens and lawns, including mowing, trimming, pruning, raking, and weeding.</li><li>Waters plants and lawns and add fertilizer as needed.</li><li>Install outdoor lighting and sprinkler systems.</li><li>Removes snow, ice, and leaves as needed.</li><li>Builds and renovates stone pathways, patios, and ledges.</li><li>Loads and unloads equipment and tools into work vehicles.</li><li>Drives work vehicles while on-site</li><li>Adheres to all safety precautions.</li><li>Assists Maintenance crew as needed with interior and exterior building repairs</li></ul><p><em>Qualifications:&nbsp;</em></p><ul><li>High school degree or equivalent</li><li>At least 18 years old</li><li>Previous experience in landscaping or groundskeeping a plus</li><li>Must know how to operate lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers</li><li>Must pass background check and drug test</li><li>Must have the ability to function optimally in a stressful environment, and the ability to remain calm in emotionally charged situations.</li></ul><p><em>Physical Requirements:&nbsp;</em></p><ul><li>Able to stand, bend, and squat for extended periods and lift up to 55 pounds</li><li>Must be able to work flexible hours during the winter to do snow removal as well as respond to emergency calls</li></ul><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><em>Silver Hill Hospital (&ldquo;SHH&rdquo;) is fully committed to equal employment and advancement opportunities for all present employees as well as for applicants in all phases of the employment process (recruitment, hiring, assignment, conditions of employment, compensation, benefits, training, promotion, transfer, discipline and termination).
