    "requisitionDescription": "<p data-pasted=\"true\">The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) &ndash; Hospital Rounding is responsible for providing inpatient cardiovascular care across affiliated hospitals. This role focuses exclusively on hospital-based patient management, including acute and chronic cardiac conditions, care coordination, and procedural support. This position includes participation in call coverage but does not include outpatient clinic responsibilities.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Clinical Care (Inpatient Focus):</strong></p><p>&bull; Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient history, physical exams, and risk evaluations in the hospital setting.</p><p>&bull; Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, and coronary artery disease.</p><p>&bull; Interpret diagnostic studies including EKGs, echocardiograms, lab results, and imaging.</p><p>&bull; Provide pre- and post-procedure care for hospitalized patients undergoing cardiac interventions (e.g., catheterizations, device implants).</p><p>&bull; Manage daily hospital rounds, including documentation, order entry, and care plan updates.</p><p>&bull; Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and consulting teams to coordinate patient care.</p><p>Coordination &amp; Communication:</p><p>&bull; Serve as a liaison between physicians, hospital staff, and ancillary services.</p><p>&bull; Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges with appropriate follow-up planning.</p><p>&bull; Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans and prognosis.</p><p>&bull; Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).</p><p>&bull; Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and case discussions.</p><p>&bull; Conduct peer-to-peer reviews with insurance companies for treatment approvals</p><p>Hospital Coverage Responsibilities:</p><p>&bull; Provide daily rounding services at assigned hospitals.</p><p>&bull; Respond to inpatient consults and urgent patient needs.</p><p>&bull; Support cardiologists with inpatient procedures and care coordination.</p><p>&bull; Assist with clinical research activities as applicable within the hospital setting.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Schedule &amp; Availability:</strong></p><p>&bull; Participate in night, weekend, and holiday call rotations.</p><p>&bull; Work one weekend per month (full-time) or every other month (part-time).</p><p>&bull; Cover one winter and one summer holiday annually.</p><p>&bull; Schedule primarily aligned with hospital rounding needs; no outpatient clinic schedule.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Requirements:</strong></p><p>&bull; Master&rsquo;s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited program.</p><p>&bull; Board-certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC, AANP) with AGACNP preferred; FNP with strong inpatient cardiology experience considered.</p><p>&bull; Active NP licensure in Missouri and Illinois.</p><p>&bull; Minimum of 2 years of cardiology or inpatient experience preferred.</p><p>&bull; Strong clinical decision-making skills in acute care settings.</p><p>&bull; Proficiency in EMR systems.</p><p>&bull; Ability to travel between hospital locations.</p><p>&bull; Excellent communication and teamwork skills.</p><p><br></p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Ability to perform the full range of body motions. Regularly sit, stand, walk, and communicate in person and by phone.
