    "description": "<h2>About JerseySTEM</h2>\n<p><strong>All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.</strong>JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.</p>\n<p>Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a <strong>minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week </strong>and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>This is a pro-bono position.</strong></p>\n<p>JerseySTEM is seeking an experience member to <strong>design, implement, and architect our automation stack. </strong>The automation stack is the set of tools and workflow integrations that streamline operations, using  AI features where helpful.</p>\n<p>This role focuses on <strong>reducing manual work, improving consistency, enabling workflow-level interoperability across tools, and building a lean team</strong> to scale and sustain automation capabilities.</p>\n<p><strong>AI scope:</strong> Uses built‑in AI features (e.g., summarization, classification, routing) inside automation tools; <strong>no model training, data science, or ML expertise required</strong>.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Define, build, and manage</strong> JerseySTEM’s automation stack using tools such as Automation Anywhere, Google Apps Script, and other workflow-centric connectors. </li>\n <li><strong>Map and automate key cross-functional workflows</strong>.</li>\n <li><strong>Add AI-assisted steps </strong>where helpful.</li>\n <li><strong>Monitor and maintain automations</strong> for reliability, performance, and clarity.</li>\n <li><strong>Integrate platforms </strong>(Google Workspace, Salesforce, iCIMS, Jira, etc.) with a focus on interoperability at the workflow level, not data engineering. </li>\n <li><strong>Partner within the TECH team</strong> to ensure automations align with reference architecture, governance, and security guidelines.</li>\n <li><strong>Recruit and lead a lean team</strong> to support automation design, development, and maintenance.</li>\n <li><strong>Mentor contributors</strong> and uphold quality and consistency in automation practices.</li>\n <li><strong>Troubleshoot automation issues</strong> and implement long-term fixes.</li>\n <li><strong>Document workflows, dependencies, and integration points, </strong>ensuring clarity and shared understanding.</li>\n <li><strong>Establish simple governance practices</strong> for responsible, reliable automation use.</li>\n <li><strong>Participate in virtual meetings</strong> and collaborate with leadership to identify high-value workflow automation opportunities.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A Minimum of 10 years experience in a Technology role.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with automation platforms (Automation Anywhere, Google Apps Script, or similar).</li>\n <li>Understanding of <strong>workflow design</strong>, trigger-based automations, and lightweight API integrations.</li>\n <li>Experience (or curiosity) with <strong>AI-assisted automation features</strong> (e.g., GPT steps for summarization, classification, or sentiment-based routing).</li>\n <li>Ability to <strong>explain technical concepts simply</strong> to non-technical members.</li>\n <li>Comfortable working in a <strong>remote, member-driven environment</strong>.</li>\n <li>Minimum commitment of <strong>6 hours per week</strong>.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with <strong>workflow automation, scripting, or process engineering</strong>.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with <strong>core operating platforms</strong> (Google Workspace, Salesforce, iCIMS, Jira, or similar).</li>\n <li>Prior exposure to distributed teams.</li>\n <li>Retired professionals or those seeking meaningful pro bono work are welcome.</li>\n</ul>",
