About the Role: Exposure: Gain diverse experiences across supporting care for medical and surgical patients across multiple units with our hospital. Required Skills and Qualifications: Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing Current registration & in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BCLS certificate Current Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Interpretation certificate Crisis Intervention Training required or obtained within 3 months of hire Minimum two years’ current experience in medicine and/or surgery units within a hospital setting Knowledge, recent experience, and competence in vascular therapy (including peripheral and central vascular access devices) Excellent physical assessment skills Oncologic and palliative nursing experience Knowledge, experience and competence in managing complex pain and symptoms related to disease processes and palliation required Knowledge, recent experience, and competence in managing post-operative patients including epidural monitoring Participates in annual professional education and mandatory organizational education Strong critical thinking and crisis intervention abilities Demonstrated reliability in attending work regularly Demonstrated evidence of ongoing professional education required in related clinical area Additional Skills: Demonstrates supportive emotional care to the patient and their family/significant others from all diverse backgrounds Demonstrates emotional intelligence to navigate high-stress situations with empathy, self-awareness, and professionalism, ensuring compassionate care for patients and respectful collaboration with colleagues.
