Financially stable, growing and with over 30 years of experience, we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Trailer Mechanic in Cordele, GA. As a member of the Union Compress team, you will have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career that may exceed your expectations.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trailer bodies, systems and components.</li><li>Performing preventative maintenance measures on trailers.</li><li>Experience replacing landing legs and welding.</li><li>Maintaining hubs and axles and adjusting or replacing them when required.</li><li>Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tires.</li><li>Checking and repairing the brake chambers, sack adjusters and brake cam bushings.</li><li>Testing all systems and equipment for performance issues.</li><li>Ensuring that trailers meet DOT road safety requirements.</li><li>Compiling inspection reports to document repairs.</li><li>Provide a safe environment to work in and follow OSHA regulations.</li><li>Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required.</li><li>Maintain an organized and neat work area.</li><li>Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Must have previous welding experience.</li><li>Availability and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, evenings and weekends.</li><li>Must be able to bend, stand, and walk throughout the day.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>BENEFITS</strong></p><p>Union Compress offers a competitive salary and annual bonus program along with comprehensive benefits that include:</p><ul><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>Employer Paid Health Insurance</li><li>Dental Insurance</li><li>Vision Insurance</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>401(k) with Company matching</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
