About the role Decagon is scaling fast, and we're building the finance function to match. As one of our first finance hires, you'll sit at the center of our most critical decisions — owning planning, stress-testing bets, and partnering directly with our co-founders and leadership team to allocate capital against our biggest opportunities. This isn't a reporting role. You'll shape how we think, not just track how we did. This is an in office role in our SF Headquarters. In this role, you will Own our quarterly and annual planning cycle end-to-end, guiding overall company strategy, resource allocation, and decision-making Build and own our financial model and unit economics framework Partner cross-functionally with executives across key functions to ideate, support, and drive strategic initiatives Drive accountability across the business by defining financial and operational KPIs, building dashboards, and identifying the right levers to accelerate growth and efficiency Monitor key performance indicators, financial metrics, and cash flow; deliver timely reporting packages and insights on key business trends Build and maintain complex financial models for long-range planning, unit economics, business cases, and investment evaluation Own materials for our Board meetings and serve as a key partner on future fundraising processes Develop and build a scalable finance function that can support Decagon’s hyper-growth Your background looks something like this 3-5 years of experience in Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, or a closely related role at a high-growth technology company 1–2 years of investment banking at a top-tier firm Expert financial modeling skills — you can build from scratch, stress-test assumptions, and translate outputs into clear business narratives Strong analytical instincts and the ability to distill complexity into structured frameworks and actionable recommendations Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership Demonstrated ability to influence without authority — you can get alignment across teams who don't report to you High ownership mentality — you take initiative, drive projects to completion, and hold yourself to a high bar Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly Proficiency in Google Sheets / Excel; experience with SQL or BI tools a strong plus Even better Experience working in B2B SaaS with familiarity with ARR-based business metrics Familiarity with Accounting ERPs and financial planning tools Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related business field Compensation $180,000 - $235,000 + Equity Benefits We proudly offer the following benefits for our full-time employees: Take what you need vacation policy (subject to local requirements; UK employees receive 25 days of statutory leave) Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits for you and your family Life Insurance and Disability Benefits Retirement Plan (e.g., 401K, pension) Parental Leave Fertility and family building benefits through Carrot Daily lunches and snacks in the office to keep you at your best These benefits are described in more detail in Decagon’s policies, may vary by location, and can change at any time according to applicable compensation and benefits plans.
