If you're passionate about making a difference in this critical field, we invite you to explore a career with Carollo.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a Structural Engineer within our Private Sector Group (Industrial) to support our vision of becoming the best water consulting firm.  </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plans, monitors and manages structural engineering scope, schedule and budget for successful project completion</li>\n <li>Performs quality management reviews of structural designs by others and works with designer to understand and resolve issues arising from the review</li>\n <li>Prepares estimates for cost and schedule of structural engineering services for design and construction</li>\n <li>Production of Contract Documents for construction of structures, including plans and specifications</li>\n <li>Conducts on-site investigations and evaluations of existing structures, including the preparation of reports</li>\n <li>Works with other project team members to understand and integrate their requirements into the structural design</li>\n <li>Coordinates details of design between various project design disciplines</li>\n <li>Mentors and trains staff and entry-level structural engineers</li>\n <li>Assists and coaches CADD technicians in developing presentations of structural designs</li>\n <li>Prepares and reviews opinions of construction costs for structural portion of projects</li>\n <li>Assists field staff in resolving issues and questions during construction</li>\n <li>Assists in continuing development and improvement of structural design standards, specifications, and typical details</li>\n <li>Develops project-specific designs, standards, specifications and details for unusual or unique situations</li>\n <li>Travel required when requested</li>\n <li>Makes site visits to observe during construction and operation</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural Emphasis</li>\n <li>6-12 years of experience, preferably in the design of water and wastewater treatment structures</li>\n <li>Registration as a Professional Engineer</li>\n <li>Expert in the application of building codes and code-referenced standards for design of water treatment and industrial structures in concrete, steel, and reinforced masonry</li>\n <li>Highly motivated self-starter with demonstrated experience working with minimum supervision to determine and complete structural engineering tasks while acting as part of a multi-disciplinary project team</li>\n <li>Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of specifications for construction using concrete, masonry and steel</li>\n <li>Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of presentation of structural design and detailing in construction documents</li>\n <li>Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of structural design codes and standards</li>\n <li>Skilled in organizing and coordinating work with both peers and subordinates, and in planning, monitoring, and completing projects within that plan</li>\n <li>Production and project management skills and experience</li>\n <li>Strong oral and written communications skills</li>\n <li>Proficient in public speaking roles</li>\n <li>Proficient in MS Word and Excel</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s degree in Structural Engineering</li>\n <li>Experience with Microstation or AutoCAD</li>\n <li>Registration as a Structural Engineer</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Other Compensation and Benefits</h2>\n<p>Carollo is committed to providing employees with a competitive, comprehensive benefits program that provides the care employees and their families need to lead healthy, productive lives.
