Candidates with innovative research programs focused on the fundamental mechanisms underlying human disease are particularly sought. The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine offers a collaborative, multifaceted academic environment with active research in Sensory and Vision Science; Structural, Cell, and RNA Biology; Cellular Metabolism; and Age-Related Diseases. Faculty are backed by substantial salary support. The department maintains a highly regarded faculty mentoring program to help advance the careers of junior faculty. Further, successful candidates may be eligible to participate in an NIH funded, mentored career development program at WVU and may apply for funding from the Visual Sciences Center of Biomedical Research Excellence ( https://medicine.wvu.edu/biochemistry/visual-sciences-center-of-biomedical-research-excellence/ ) The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine is part of the Robert C.
