The faculty is responsible for academic, service, and scholarship matters consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. While core faculty members participate in university governance and assist the program director to plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer, and monitor all activities related to the program, the primary responsibility is to develop and deliver classroom lectures and skills instruction within the Counseling Programs. WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role directly impacts student learning, professional preparation, and program quality. Faculty contribute to curriculum development, student success, and the advancement of counseling education while supporting accreditation standards and strengthening RMU’s reputation in academic and professional communities. Design, develop, and deliver counseling curriculum aligned with program outcomes Teach courses using interactive methods and educational technology Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback Mentor and advise students academically and professionally Participate in program governance, curriculum assessment, and accreditation efforts Engage in scholarly activities and/or clinical practice Contribute to university committees and service initiatives Maintain communication with students, faculty, administration, and community stakeholders Participate in professional organizations and represent the program externally Support student admissions, progression, and clinical education processes WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Successful candidates will: Deliver high-quality instruction and maintain strong student outcomes Build effective relationships with students, faculty, and stakeholders Contribute to curriculum innovation and program improvement Engage in ongoing professional development and scholarly activity Demonstrate consistent service to the program and university WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS) Education Doctorate in Counselor Education Qualified as Core Counseling Faculty under CACREP standards Licensure/Certification Licensed Professional Counselor (Mental Health or School Counseling) Experience Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience Teaching experience in an educational setting Knowledge & Skills Expertise in core counseling curriculum and at least one specialty area Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with educational technology and computer applications Ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced experience in curriculum design and program development Active involvement in professional counseling organizations Record of scholarship, research, or clinical practice beyond minimum requirements Experience with online or hybrid teaching environments ABOUT ROCKY MOUNTAIN UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMU) is a graduate‑level institution dedicated to advancing healthcare education, research, and service.
