This position will work <strong>Monday - Friday, eight (8) hours</strong> each day.  The Surgical Tech III demonstrates through clinical practice, a clear understanding of sterile techniques and has a working knowledge of the specialized instrumentation and equipment required for a variety of specialty procedures. We have earned Primary Stroke Center certification from The Joint Commission and Get with the Guidelines® Gold Plus Achievement in Stroke from the American Heart Association.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital offers great NEW competitive pay and benefits!</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical, Dental, Vision</li>\n <li>403(b) Retirement Savings Plan</li>\n <li>Health Savings Account (HSA)</li>\n <li>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</li>\n <li>Paid Time Off (up to 5 weeks to start)</li>\n <li>Life Insurance</li>\n <li>Extended Leave Plan (ELP)</li>\n <li>Family Care (childcare, elder care, pet care)</li>\n <li>Paid Parental Leave</li>\n <li>Pet Insurance</li>\n <li>Car Insurance</li>\n <li>Educational Benefits including tuition reimbursement & monthly payments to help pay down any graduated school debt</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>ALL benefits start on day one!</u></strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for the maintenance of an orderly surgical field and for consistently passing instruments and supplies quickly and efficiently to the surgeon.</li>\n <li>Able to anticipate and prioritize the needs of the various steps associated with the procedure.</li>\n <li>Takes part in sponge, needle and instruments counts as dictated by the procedure.</li>\n <li>Responsible for maintaining the surgical specimen in a manner which identifies and preserves them for pathology evaluation.</li>\n <li>Assists in ordering and stocking of specialty supplies under the direction of management staff and departmental guidelines</li>\n <li>In collaboration with a Registered Nurse, serves as a technical subject matter expert for at least one tertiary specialty.</li>\n <li>Provides scrub services for major procedures in at least 2 surgical specialties (independently with high physician satisfaction).</li>\n <li>Prepares and conducts technical performance-oriented training related to specialty service.</li>\n <li>Serves as a preceptor to perioperative personnel rotating through the scrub roles associated with their primary specialty(s) and/or second circulates on major tertiary procedures.</li>\n <li>Collaborates with surgeons and proactively addresses case needs when performing duties in either the scrub or second circulator roles.</li>\n <li>In collaboration with the clinical leadership, assists in workflow process improvement activities, contributes to organizational effectiveness, and demonstrates career growth and development.</li>\n <li>Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.</li>\n <li>May have limited access to areas storing medications.</li>\n <li>Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.</li>\n <li>Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education/Training</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Surgical Technology training program; or</li>\n   <li>Orlando Health training program</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Licensure/Certification</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Four (4) year surgical tech experience. (CST and two (2) years of surgical tech experience may substitute for the required experience).</li>\n</ul>",
