This 116-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams:  the 15-day annual summer Fair which averages more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events.  In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. Our Electrical Journeyperson works under the direction of the Electrical Foreperson, Manager, Facilities & Maintenance, and Manager, Event Conversions, and is responsible for supporting electrical maintenance facility operations and event operations across Hastings Park including Playland but excluding ride maintenance electrical. This role is a hands-on trade position, performing electrical maintenance, repairs, installations, troubleshooting, temporary power support and event electrical set-ups/teardowns, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with BC Electrical Code, Technical Safety BC, WorkSafeBC, and PNE policies.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Why join our Team?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Exhilarating and fun-loving culture</li>\n <li>Flexible work environment </li>\n <li>Opportunity for free or discounted tickets to shows, events, sports games, and much more </li>\n <li>Staff discounts for Playland, The Fair, and Fright Nights, as well as all PNE Food Stands</li>\n <li>Competitive compensation package</li>\n <li>Opportunity to create lasting memories and friendships!</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>What will you do this year?</strong></p>\n<p>In your role as an Electrical Journeyperson your primary accountabilities will be to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and upgrades on building systems across multiple venues including Pacific Coliseum, Agrodome, Forum, Playland, Freedom Mobile Arch and other PNE facilities, excluding ride electrical systems.</li>\n <li>Support the Electrical Foreperson and electrical team with day-to-day electrical maintenance and event support across Hastings Park.</li>\n <li>Complete assigned work safely, efficiently and in accordance with BC Electrical Code, Technical Safety BC requirements, WorkSafeBC regulations and PNE policies.</li>\n <li>Support event and conversion operations by installing, maintaining and removing temporary power, show power and electrical set-ups/teardowns for concerts, trade shows, sporting events, film shoots, the Fair, Playland, Fright Nights, FIFA and other special events.</li>\n <li>Assist with reviewing event orders, drawings and production requirements; confirm electrical loads, connection points and safety considerations as directed.</li>\n <li>Ensure event electrical equipment and systems are code compliant and meet WorkSafeBC requirements.</li>\n <li>Perform preventive maintenance tasks and corrective work and ensure work is accurately documented in the CMMS system, including labor, materials and asset history.</li>\n <li>Participate in regular safety talks, hazard assessments, lockout/tagout procedures and incident reporting; promote and model a strong safety culture.</li>\n <li>Coordinate work with other trades and departments including Mechanical, Carpentry, Conversions, Custodial, Playland Operations and other operational teams to minimize disruption and support smooth event turnarounds.</li>\n <li>Assist external electrical contractors and service providers when required and support the Electrical Foreperson in monitoring work for quality, safety and adherence to PNE standards.</li>\n <li>Provide technical support and input into maintenance, renewal and capital projects as required.</li>\n <li>Respond to electrical service calls, urgent repairs and operational requests across the site.</li>\n <li>Participate in on-call and respond to after-hours emergencies as operational needs require.</li>\n <li>Operate tools and equipment related to electrical maintenance and event electrical support.</li>\n <li>Operate equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts and other site equipment as required.</li>\n <li>Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained in electrical rooms, shops and worksites.</li>\n <li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong><strong>What else?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician or hold an equivalent provincial Trade Qualification.</li>\n <li>Must hold a valid electrical qualification to perform electrical work in British Columbia.</li>\n <li>FSR designation is considered an asset.</li>\n <li>Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial, industrial or institutional electrical work is preferred.</li>\n <li>Strong working knowledge of:</li>\n <li>BC Electrical Code and Technical Safety BC requirements</li>\n <li>WorkSafeBC regulations and safe electrical work practices</li>\n <li>Lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety requirements</li>\n <li>Experience working in a complex, multi-building environment such as arenas, stadiums, campuses, amusement parks or large public facilities is strongly preferred.</li>\n <li>Experience in an event, entertainment, or amusement park environment is considered an asset.</li>\n <li>Experience working in a unionized environment, such as IBEW, is an asset.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with CMMS software, such as Limble, and digital work order systems is preferred.</li>\n <li>Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License, or equivalent, with an acceptable driving record, is required.</li>\n <li>Equipment operation experience, including scissor lift and boom lift, is preferred.</li>\n <li>Must be comfortable working an event-based schedule, including evenings, weekends, overnights and holidays as required by operations and event calendars.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Who are you?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Team Player </li>\n <li>Safety Champion </li>\n <li>Technically Strong </li>\n <li>Skillful Communicator </li>\n <li>Organized & Proactive </li>\n <li>Committed</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Where and when to APPLY?</strong></p>\n<p>Applications can be submitted via the PNE website at <strong>www.pne.ca/jobs</strong> and will be accepted until the role is filled. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preference will be given to candidates who submit their resume/cover letter before <strong><em>Sunday, June 7th.</em></strong> We look forward to hearing from you!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>The PNE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to creating an inclusive workforce that reflects the diverse community we proudly serve.
