This role blends deep technical execution with team leadership within an empowered product model.</p><p>You will lead a team of 6&ndash;10 engineers while remaining hands-on in architecture, design, and development. Working closely with Product and UX leadership, you will shape scalable, secure cloud platforms that power financial workflows, card issuance, and secure manufacturing for global institutions.</p><p>Beyond delivery, you will operate as a product-minded engineering leader &mdash; translating business problems into durable technical solutions, ensuring system reliability and data integrity, and building platforms designed for scale, observability, and measurable impact. You will influence cross-functional stakeholders, elevate engineering standards, and help define how our SaaS platforms evolve to support both operational excellence and long-term product strategy.</p><p>This is an in-person role based in Boston, MA.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>How You&rsquo;ll Make a Difference</strong></h2><ul><li>Lead and contribute hands-on to a full-stack product team building secure financial and card issuance SaaS platforms.</li><li>Architect and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions across frontend, backend APIs, data, and infrastructure.</li><li>Partner closely with Product and UX within an empowered product team, owning discovery, technical direction, and delivery outcomes.</li><li>Guide development of modern web applications using React and/or Angular alongside robust backend APIs and distributed services.</li><li>Design solutions with architectural fluency across Azure, AWS, and GCP.</li><li>Drive engineering excellence in security, reliability, scalability, and observability within a regulated financial environment.</li><li>Establish best practices for CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, and infrastructure-as-code.</li><li>Mentor and develop engineers through architecture reviews, pairing, feedback, and technical coaching.</li><li>Ensure secure-by-design development aligned with PCI, EMV, and financial compliance standards.</li><li>Integrate SaaS capabilities with secure financial and card production workflows across global manufacturing sites.</li><li>Serve as the technical decision-maker and escalation point within the team.</li><li>Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to translate card issuance needs into structured product requirements and scalable technical solutions.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><h2>Who You Are</h2><ul><li>10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a technical leadership role within cloud-native SaaS environments.</li><li>Proven success launching and scaling secure, high-availability platforms in regulated financial or enterprise environments.</li><li>Strong full-stack expertise across modern web and distributed systems:</li><li>Frontend: React and/or Angular</li><li>Backend: RESTful APIs, distributed systems, service-oriented architecture</li><li>Data: SQL and NoSQL systems</li><li>Deep experience with Azure cloud architecture, with working knowledge of AWS and GCP.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on in architecture, design, and development.</li><li>Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).</li><li>Experience operating within cross-functional product teams alongside Product and UX, influencing technical direction and delivery outcomes.</li><li>Experience in payments, fintech, card issuance, authentication, identity, or similar regulated domains is highly valued, including familiarity with standards such as PCI-DSS, EMV, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.</li><li>Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS architectures, event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), and integrating software platforms with hardware or secure manufacturing environments is a plus.</li><li>Native fluency with modern AI-accelerated engineering practices, including tools such as GitHub Copilot Enterprise, Azure OpenAI, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude (including Claude Code), Cursor, and emerging agentic development frameworks.
