Description
About the Role:
The Demand Planning Team at Kalmbach Feeds is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Production Scheduler. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring that products are produced on time and to the required quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about manufacturing, operations management, and process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create and manage production schedules, considering factors such as material availability, labor capacity, sequencing protocols, and equipment constraints Coordinate with various departments, including Purchasing, Nutrition, Customer Service, Transportation, Quality, Sales, and Customer Service. Analyze production data and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and quality Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demand and company goals Monitor and adjust production schedules as needed to respond to changes in market conditions or customer needs Collaborate with supervisors and team leaders to ensure that production staff are aware of their tasks and responsibilities Maintain accurate records of production, including schedules and inventory levels Identify and resolve production-related issues, such as material shortages or equipment downtime Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and improve efficiency The Right Candidate:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor’s degree in operations management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in production scheduling, operations management, or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and develop actionable insights Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Familiarity with data analytics tools, such as Excel and Power BI preferred Experience with automated scheduling software preferred About the Company:
