In this role, you will engage in the design process of cutting-edge industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for some of the world's leading high-tech enterprises. As a Mechanical Designer at SSOE, you will collaborate with fellow designers, engineering teams, and Senior Project Managers to develop innovative solutions for intricate and challenging designs, incorporating the latest design methodologies while ensuring adherence to specifications and timely project completion. </p>\n<h2>AI and Innovation</h2>\n<p>At SSOE, we don’t just talk about the future, we build it. From day one, you’ll receive the training and support needed to leverage AI as a core tool for enhancing productivity, sparking creativity, and streamlining complex workflows.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Produce comprehensive technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligning with project requirements and client expectations.</li>\n <li>Lead the creation, refinement, and finalization of designs encompassing industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, HVAC ducting, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, motor control, process chemicals, fire protection, and potentially other mechanical building systems.</li>\n <li>Design heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maintain precise environmental conditions that include specific materials, specifications, and/or implement measures to control factors like temperature, humidity, air filtration, particle levels, etc.</li>\n <li>Apply established design techniques, exercising judgment to adapt and modify design concepts while ensuring compliance with company and team CAD standards for quality control.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with mechanical engineers to perform load calculations, airflow balancing, and equipment sizing to maintain precise temperature, humidity, and air quality control environments</li>\n <li>Facilitate seamless coordination among various design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) to fulfill design package requirements.</li>\n <li>Will work with other Designers, Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.</li>\n <li>Conduct field verifications and site assessments to identify, verify, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages, troubleshooting design issues during construction as necessary.</li>\n <li>Support project managers and mechanical engineers in managing scope, schedule, and cost through accurate work package deliverable timelines, submittal tracking, and RFI responses.</li>\n <li>Mentor and train junior mechanical designers on drafting standards, calculation techniques, and software tool use, fostering a continuous improvement mindset within the design team.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED required. An Associate degree in engineering or architectural fields is a plus.</li>\n <li>Proficiency working with AutoCAD and Revit are required. Experience with other tools, such as Navisworks, PIPE-FLO, or other similar tools is a plus.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with HVAC design standards and codes including ASHRAE 62.1, IMC, NFPA 90A, and local building codes relevant to mechanical system design.</li>\n <li>Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including project managers, engineers, architects, and trades to deliver technically accurate and constructible designs.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs that contain HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, or other similar mechanical building systems.</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration and clear client interaction during design reviews and RFIs.</li>\n <li>Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
