    "description_html": "<p>Job Title: CNC Set-Up Machinist</p><p>Shift: 1st Shift: 5:00AM-3:30PM Mon-Thurs Mandatory OT on Fridays when needed</p><p>Wage: $28-35 per hour (based off knowledge and experience)</p><p></p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><ul><li>We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Set-Up Machinist to join our casting machine shop team. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis), with a strong understanding of machining iron castings. This role involves reading blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling, setting up machines, and ensuring parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>- Set up CNC machines (including tooling, fixtures, and program offsets) for production runs on iron cast components.</p><p>- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine machine set-up requirements.</p><p>- Inspect initial run pieces and perform in-process inspections using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).</p><p>- Make machine adjustments to maintain quality and dimensional accuracy.</p><p>- Work with Quality Control and Engineering teams to resolve machining or set-up issues.</p><p>- Ensure machines are properly maintained and report any mechanical issues.</p><p>- Maintain clean and safe work area according to shop standards.</p><p>- Document setup sheets and maintain tooling inventory.</p><p>- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.</p><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or apprenticeship is a plus.</p><p>- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience, with at least 1 year focused on set-ups.</p><p>- Hands-on experience machining iron castings is required.</p><p>- Strong knowledge of G-code and CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, etc.).</p><p>- Proficient with precision measuring tools and GD&T.</p><p>- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.</p><p>- Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.</p><p>- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.</p><p></p><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><p>- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and iron shavings.</p><p>- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.</p><p>- Overtime and shift work may be required depending on production needs.</p><p><strong>Benefits include:</strong></p><ul><li>Fixed weekly schedule</li><li>Insurance</li><li>Holidays and paid time off</li><li>401K</li><li>Plenty of growth opportunities</li><li>And more!</li></ul><p>You’ll be part of a family culture where your contributions are noticed and recognized.</p><p>Northern Iron and Machine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
