Serving hospitals, clinics, and medical manufacturers, we go beyond traditional rigging by delivering dependable, end-to-end solutions that support patient care and operational continuity. Our team combines precision execution, technical expertise, and a customer-first mindset to ensure every installation is handled with care, professionalism, and attention to detail—helping our clients deliver critical healthcare services with confidence.
Job Overview
MEC is seeking a proven and highly skilled Lead Medical Equipment Machinery Mover / Rigger to direct field crews performing specialized work involving the support and safe transport, rigging, delivery, and final placement of sensitive medical equipment in hospitals, laboratories, and clinical environments.
This is more than just a technical role, it is a working field leadership position requiring precision, sound judgment, and a strong command of rigging principles in high-stakes, customer-facing settings. Employees operate in clean, highly professional healthcare environments where safety, attention to detail, and customer confidence are critical.
As a Lead, you are responsible for consultation, coordination, planning, execution and final job outcomes. You will serve as the primary point of contact on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to MEC’s “white glove" standards while leading, directing and developing crew members. This role offers a clear path for a high-performing tradesperson to expand leadership impact while continuing to build advanced technical expertise.
Core Responsibilities
Lead the full-cycle process from receipt and cross-docking through crew planning, task sequencing, and on-site execution for equipment moves and final placement
Create job requirements in advance, including manpower, access, tools, route planning, site protection, and other various contingencies
Direct rigging, hoisting, and equipment handling activities safely and efficiently
Serve as the primary field point of contact for customers, hospital staff, vendors, manufacturers' representatives, and internal operations
Ensure strict “white glove” execution, including protection of floors, walls, and sensitive environments
Oversee loading, protection, securement, and transport preparation of equipment in accordance with manufacturer standards and DOT requirements
Make real-time field decisions to adapt to site conditions while maintaining safety and quality
Complete required reports, provide photographs and job documentation accurately and on time
Train, coach, and develop Level 1 and Level 2 employees while reinforcing MEC standards
Support company vehicle driving responsibilities when qualified and assigned
Work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekends, with periodic travel primarily within the Mid-Atlantic region based on customer needs.
Skills Required for Success
Advanced understanding of rigging principles, including load balance, equipment limitations, and complex lifts
Strong leadership presence with the ability to direct crews and maintain accountability
High-level mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability in dynamic field conditions
Ability to plan, organize, and execute work in sensitive healthcare environments
Professional communication skills with strong customer-facing credibility
Commitment to safety leadership, quality execution, and team development
Qualifications
3–5+ years of field experience in specialty rigging, placement, or high-value equipment handling
CDL Required:
Premium paid for valid Class A ($5 per hour) or Class B ($3 per hour) CDL upon employment
Demonstrated experience leading crews and managing field execution
Strong working knowledge of rigging methods, site protection, and customer-facing operations
Ability to plan work, direct team members, and maintain performance under changing conditions
Willingness to travel regionally and support variable schedules
Ability to travel periodically required, including overnight and weekends
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Forklift certification preferred
