Intertek's project-related assurance, testing, inspection and consulting services are the risk management and quality assurance partner you need to ensure the reliability, safety and performance of your new developments, existing assets and facilities.</p><p>Intertek’s Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.</p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>The Registered Roof Observer will be responsible for quality assurance observations and monitoring of roofing projects during the construction process. This position is <strong>travel-intensive,&nbsp;</strong>and<strong>&nbsp;</strong>you must be willing and able to travel to project sites as needs arise. Candidates who are not currently RRO-certified but meet the eligibility requirements are also encouraged to apply—we will support you in obtaining your certification.</p><p><strong>Shift/Schedule:</strong> Full-Time, Monday – Friday core business hours (may vary slightly)</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Perform quality assurance observations and monitor the construction process to assure that roofing projects stay in compliance with approved construction drawings, specifications, and best-practice or warranty stipulated installation procedures</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Perform roofing installation inspections at site</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assist and perform other building exterior installations inspections as required</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assist with roof integrity and building enclosure field testing at site</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Prepare written reports for inspection and testing work</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Work with Project Managers on inspection, testing and/or investigative projects</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Follow and enforce all safety requirements and company policies</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Provide exceptional customer service</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Review and thoroughly understand contract requirements, and obtain authorization for and document any deviations</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Assist department admin in invoicing for all assigned projects</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Learn test standards and test procedures (e.g., AAMA, ASTM, etc.)</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Maintain tools and equipment; inventory supplies; maintain cleanliness of work area</li></ul><p>This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.</p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">High School Diploma or GED required</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Registered Roof Observer (RRO) credential <strong>OR</strong> minimum 5 years experience in commercial roof construction and demonstrated experience and eligibility to sit for the RRO exam within 1 month (exam costs covered by Intertek)</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Ability to write concise site observation reports with photos</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Technical knowledge of commercial roofing systems</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be a self-starter</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Must be detail-oriented</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Follow and enforce safety requirements and company policies</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Ability to perform work from scaffolding, ladders, boom-lifts, roof levels, etc.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Ability to climb stairs, bend, crawl, reach overhead, push, pull or carry up to 50 lbs</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Technically competent and able to effectively communicate with clients, designers, contractors, and coworkers, both in writing and orally</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Physical ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, push, pull, lift at least 50 pounds etc. as required to perform job duties</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0in;\">Ability to travel nationwide, depending on workload and project locations</li><li>A valid driver’s license and reliable driving record</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Degree in a technical field desired, or equivalent related experience, preferred</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
