Description

Radiac Abrasives, Inc., a leading manufacturer of conventional bonded and superabrasive grinding wheels, is looking for a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician to join our Salem, Illinois team that will be responsible for maintenance functions associated with mechanical and electrical equipment within the plant.  For more than 100 years, Radiac has delivered industry leading technology and quality products and service to the metal finishing industry. Radiac is a TYROLIT Company that is owned by the Swarovski Group which is headquartered in Schwaz, Austria. We offer competitive wages and excellent insurance benefits including Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision, Short-Term Disability, Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment, PTO, Paid Sick Leave, (11) holidays plus a 401(k) retirement savings plan.  After one year of service, Radiac will make a quarterly contribution into your retirement plan. Hourly pay range for this position is $31.01 to $34.41. Essential Functions: 1. Maintenance Technicians must be able to install and maintain piping, both Ferris and Non-Ferris, screwed, welded, flanged or otherwise coupled; shut-offs, controls, check valves, traps, strainers, and all devises normally found in process and service piping. 2. Maintenance Technicians must be able to do machinist work, use common machine tools to cut, shape, form, etc. and other materials into shape. 3. Maintenance Technicians must be able to troubleshoot as a mechanic, use common hand tools to adjust, replace worn and broken parts of a structural, rotating, reciprocating or running nature. 4. Maintenance Technicians must be able to do carpentry work, use woodworking tools for the purpose of repairing wood structures, construction of crating, the cutting of blocking etc. 5. Maintenance Technicians must be able to do sheet metal work for the repair of duct work, machinery guards, drip pans, tanks, vent hoods, and various other types of equipment using light to medium gauge metal. 6. Maintenance Technicians must be able to weld, both electric and gas, flat weld and pipe welding in any position. 7. Maintenance Technicians must be able to troubleshoot and repair control devices and motors in the 110 V AC to 480V AC range. 8. Maintenance Technicians maintain power transformers. (460/110) and lighting transformers. (480/277). 9. Maintenance Technicians must be able to troubleshoot and repair relay/limit switch logic devices. 10. Maintenance Technicians must be able to electronic troubleshoot and repair electronic type control devices that utilize solid state components, transistors, diodes, VDC. This repair includes printed circuit board assemblies. 11. Maintenance Technicians must be able to trouble shoot, program and repair PLC’s. 12. Maintenance Technicians must be able to trouble shoot and repair control devices used in conjunction with plant service in steam, water, air, etc. These control devises may be electrical or mechanical. 13. Maintenance Technicians must be able to effectively communicate with maintenance supervision, other engineering personnel, area department supervision. 14. Maintenance Technicians will follow all plant policies, environmental policies, and plant and departmental safety policies. Must/Will be certified to operate a Fork Lift through the Safety Department. 15. Maintenance Technicians will accurately and correctly record job time and accurately record/sign-in service/attendance time. 16. Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervision or Department Manager. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills Achieve goals with minimal supervision and guidance Experience and Education: Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Automotive Technology or Manufacturing Technology or minimum of 4 years in Radiac Maintenance Department Must pass Multi-Skilled Maintenance Mechanic and PLC Test administered by Radiac via Ramsay Corporation. A passing score is above 80 % of the national percentile on both tests. Note:  Individual can retake the test no less than every 6 months. Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to use hands constantly throughout the workday. Ability to stand and/or walk constantly throughout the workday. Ability to bend, stoop, or twist frequently throughout the work day. Ability to exert physical force to push, pull, lift or carry 50 pounds frequently. Ability to climb ladders and stairs occasionally. Ability to see detail at close range - 20/20 vision required with or without correction constantly. Ability to work in confined spaces occasionally. Ability to work in manufacturing environment.

Maintenance Technicians must be able to install and maintain piping, both Ferris and Non-Ferris, screwed, welded, flanged or otherwise coupled; shut-offs, controls, check valves, traps, strainers, and all devises normally found in process and service piping.<br>2. Maintenance Technicians must be able to do machinist work, use common machine tools to cut, shape, form, etc. and other materials into shape.<br>3. Maintenance Technicians must be able to troubleshoot as a mechanic, use common hand tools to adjust, replace worn and broken parts of a structural, rotating, reciprocating or running nature.<br>4. Maintenance Technicians must be able to do carpentry work, use woodworking tools for the purpose of repairing wood structures, construction of crating, the cutting of blocking etc.<br>5. Maintenance Technicians must be able to do sheet metal work for the repair of duct work, machinery guards, drip pans, tanks, vent hoods, and various other types of equipment using light to medium gauge metal.<br>6. Maintenance Technicians must be able to weld, both electric and gas, flat weld and pipe welding in any position.<br>7. Maintenance Technicians must be able to troubleshoot and repair control devices and motors in the 110 V AC to 480V AC range.<br>8. Maintenance Technicians maintain power transformers. (460/110) and lighting transformers. (480/277).<br>9. Maintenance Technicians must be able to troubleshoot and repair relay/limit switch logic devices.<br>10. Maintenance Technicians must be able to electronic troubleshoot and repair electronic type control devices that utilize solid state components, transistors, diodes, VDC. This repair includes printed circuit board assemblies.<br>11. Maintenance Technicians must be able to trouble shoot, program and repair PLC’s.<br>12. Maintenance Technicians must be able to trouble shoot and repair control devices used in conjunction with plant service in steam, water, air, etc. These control devises may be electrical or mechanical.<br>13. Maintenance Technicians must be able to effectively communicate with maintenance supervision, other engineering personnel, area department supervision.<br>14. Maintenance Technicians will follow all plant policies, environmental policies, and plant and departmental safety policies. Must/Will be certified to operate a Fork Lift through the Safety Department.<br>15. Maintenance Technicians will accurately and correctly record job time and accurately record/sign-in service/attendance time.<br>16. Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervision or Department Manager.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p><p
