The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller overseeing Hotel Drover. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Embody the values + guiding principles of Hotel Drover Ability to manage multiple functions and deliver results in a demanding, fast paced environment Adherence to all policies stated in the team member handbook. Review and oversee the daily audits and the preparation of the daily revenue journal. Analyzes various balance sheet accounts, prepares lead schedules, and records necessary adjustments. Analyzes and records necessary accruals to reflect accurate liabilities for an accounting period. Participates in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns. Prepare journal entries essential to building an accurate general ledger reflecting all internal and intercompany transactions for each business unit Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, vendor accounts, and customer accounts in accordance with departmental policy Prepare monthly reconciliations of Intercompany related party receivables and payables Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and reporting package for all Hotel Drover managed business units Assist in the coordination of and preparation for financial audits as required Assist in the creation of budget reports and in preparation of annual budgets Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files Assist in the execution and implementation of various financial projects and system initiatives Work with all business partners to streamline the business and management Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Skilled in spreadsheet and word processing software. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Accredited College or University Preferred Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience in hospitality environment, or large regional CPA accounting firm Excellent strategic, analytical, and creative thinking aptitude in both an independent and team environment.
