Visit our website to learn more!</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p><strong>How will you make a difference?</strong></p><p>Wabtec is seeking a Product Safety &amp; Compliance Engineer III to serve as a technical authority for regulatory compliance and product safety within the US transit bus market. This role ensures products meet applicable FMVSS/CMVSS, ADA vehicle accessibility, FTA-funded procurement, and APTA requirements while partnering cross‑functionally to embed compliance early in design. This is a senior individual contributor role with strong influence across engineering, quality, suppliers, and customers.</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p><strong>What do we want to know about you?</strong></p><p>· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or similar).</p><p>· 7+ years’ experience in product safety, compliance, or regulated vehicle engineering.</p><p>· Hands-on experience with FMVSS/CMVSS application</p><p>· Working knowledge of ADA vehicle accessibility requirements</p><p>· Strong technical documentation and cross‑functional leadership skills</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p><strong>What will your typical day look like?</strong></p><p>· Own compliance assessments, interpretation and application of FMVSS (49 CFR Part 571) and CMVSS.</p><p>· Lead ADA accessibility compliance (49 CFR Parts 37 &amp; 38) for transit bus products.</p><p>· Support FTA-funded bus procurements and customer compliance requirements.</p><p>· Define verification strategies and approve test plans and compliance evidence.</p><p>· Partner with engineering and quality teams to manage safety and compliance risk.</p><p>· Interface with customers, suppliers, test labs, as well as regulators and legal counsel as needed as compliance subject matter experts.</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p><strong>What about the physical demands of the job?</strong></p><p>· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.</p><p>· Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.</p><p>· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach hands and arms and talk or hear.</p><p>· The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.</p><p>You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p><strong>Our Commitment to Embrace Diversity:</strong></p><p>Wabtec is a global company that invests not just in our products, but also our people by embracing diversity and inclusion.
