More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today. SafeCare Family Services (SFS) at Flagstone Family Shelter & Kensington Family Shelter offers an evidence-based, in-home parenting skills curriculum designed for Brooklyn-based parents at risk of or with a history of child maltreatment, particularly those living at the shelter. The program focuses on three modules: Parent-Child/Parent-Infant Interactions to address neglect and physical abuse, the Health Module for medical neglect risks, and the Home Safety Module to prevent environmental neglect and unintentional injury. SFS primarily conducts home visits, utilizing a structured problem-solving approach for clients with at least one child aged 0-5, who can benefit from enhanced parenting skills, have an open or historical neglect case, lack resources or social support, are in the Independent Living Program, are undergoing substance abuse treatment or mental health care, or have shown a lack of supervision and safety. Position: Program Supervisor Reports To: Program Director Location: Brooklyn, NY What The Program Supervisor Does: Staff Leadership & Coaching: Supervise and provide strong leadership to at least two Parent Advocates, fostering a high-performance, collaborative team environment. Motivate, coach, and counsel direct reporting staff to excel in their roles, while also administering constructive discipline and documenting unsatisfactory performance as needed. Ensure successful completion of the SafeCare model training and certification for self and direct reports in accordance with Georgia State University, and obtain program coach certification to effectively coach Parent Advocates. Collaborate with SafeCare coaches and direct reporting staff to improve work performance through client feedback, ongoing training, and other appropriate mechanisms. Program Management & Operations: Plan and organize all program activities to maximize the achievement of contract goals and performance targets. Oversee all direct service components, including centralized intake, disposition of cases, and assignment of new cases to Parent Advocates. Provide staff with necessary tools and skills for effective service delivery. Troubleshoot client and staff program challenges, making decisions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Manage personal time effectively and coordinate program activities to maximize team efficiency. Address and overcome resistance to change from clients, staff, and supervisors/funders to ensure smooth program adaptation. Client Service & Caseload Management: Maintain professional relationships with clients, strictly upholding confidentiality. Monitor clients' progress weekly, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions. Direct Caseload: Carry a personal caseload of 5-10 cases, with the number potentially influenced by the caseloads and needs of the program's Parent Advocates. May prescreen clients over the telephone for eligibility and schedule intake appointments. May conduct initial intake or assessment of clients and/or their families and perform periodic reassessments. May plan, coordinate, and facilitate social/peer support events, including group facilitation for clients. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures in all client interactions and program activities. Comply with any and all Federal, State, City, and CAMBA security and privacy policies intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information. Review all staff case records and client documentation related to clients' progress for accuracy, completeness, and clarity related to SafeCare fidelity . Administrative & Reporting Communicate effectively with clients, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders. Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested. Provide all required information for weekly, monthly, quarterly, semester, and annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders. Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff. Community Engagement (As Needed) May prepare marketing materials for the program. May reach out and market the program to the community in order to recruit clients. Minimum Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and 2 years of applicable experience and/or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree Preferred. (A license is required of these Master's Degrees: Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling, Counseling/Guidance, Art Therapy). Other Requirements: Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably within a social services or community-based setting. A minimum of two years of direct experience working with families and children in a shelter-based environment. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey respect, compassion, and empathy while producing clear, concise, and professional documentation and reports. Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure efficient program operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, with working knowledge of relevant databases and case management systems being a significant plus. Bi-lingual English and Spanish or Haitian Creole. Preferred Compensation : $62,400-$63,000 annually When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><strong>SafeCare Family Services (SFS)</strong> at <strong>Flagstone Family Shelter</strong> & <strong>Kensington Family Shelter</strong> offers an evidence-based, in-home parenting skills curriculum designed for Brooklyn-based parents at risk of or with a history of child maltreatment, particularly those living at the shelter. The program focuses on three modules: Parent-Child/Parent-Infant Interactions to address neglect and physical abuse, the Health Module for medical neglect risks, and the Home Safety Module to prevent environmental neglect and unintentional injury. SFS primarily conducts home visits, utilizing a structured problem-solving approach for clients with at least one child aged 0-5, who can benefit from enhanced parenting skills, have an open or historical neglect case, lack resources or social support, are in the Independent Living Program, are undergoing substance abuse treatment or mental health care, or have shown a lack of supervision and safety.</p><p><strong>Position: Program Supervisor</strong></p><p><strong>Reports To: Program Director  </strong></p><p><strong>Location: Brooklyn, NY </strong></p><p><strong><u>What The Program Supervisor Does:</u></strong></p><p><strong><u>Staff Leadership & Coaching:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Supervise and provide strong leadership to at least two Parent Advocates, fostering a high-performance, collaborative team environment.</li><li>Motivate, coach, and counsel direct reporting staff to excel in their roles, while also administering constructive discipline and documenting unsatisfactory performance as needed.</li><li>Ensure successful completion of the SafeCare model training and certification for self and direct reports in accordance with Georgia State University, and obtain program coach certification to effectively coach Parent Advocates.</li><li>Collaborate with SafeCare coaches and direct reporting staff to improve work performance through client feedback, ongoing training, and other appropriate mechanisms.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Program Management & Operations:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Plan and organize all program activities to maximize the achievement of contract goals and performance targets.</li><li>Oversee all direct service components, including centralized intake, disposition of cases, and assignment of new cases to Parent Advocates.</li><li>Provide staff with necessary tools and skills for effective service delivery.</li><li>Troubleshoot client and staff program challenges, making decisions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.</li><li>Manage personal time effectively and coordinate program activities to maximize team efficiency.</li><li>Address and overcome resistance to change from clients, staff, and supervisors/funders to ensure smooth program adaptation.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Client Service & Caseload Management:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Maintain professional relationships with clients, strictly upholding confidentiality.</li><li>Monitor clients' progress weekly, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.</li><li><strong>Direct Caseload:</strong> Carry a personal caseload of 5-10 cases, with the number potentially influenced by the caseloads and needs of the program's Parent Advocates.</li><li>May prescreen clients over the telephone for eligibility and schedule intake appointments.</li><li>May conduct initial intake or assessment of clients and/or their families and perform periodic reassessments.</li><li>May plan, coordinate, and facilitate social/peer support events, including group facilitation for clients.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Compliance & Quality Assurance:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures in all client interactions and program activities.</li><li>Comply with any and all Federal, State, City, and CAMBA security and privacy policies intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.</li><li>Review all staff case records and client documentation related to clients' progress for accuracy, completeness, and clarity related to SafeCare fidelity .</li></ul><p><strong><u>Administrative & Reporting</u></strong></p><ul><li>Communicate effectively with clients, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders.</li><li>Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.</li><li>Provide all required information for weekly, monthly, quarterly, semester, and annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders.</li><li>Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Community Engagement (As Needed)</u></strong></p><ul><li>May prepare marketing materials for the program.</li><li>May reach out and market the program to the community in order to recruit clients.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Minimum Education/Experience Required:</u></strong></p><ul><li style=\"margin-bottom:11px;\"><span style=\"font-size:11pt;\"><span><span style=\"line-height:107%;\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri, sans-serif;\">Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and 2 years of applicable experience and/or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree Preferred. (A license is required of these Master's Degrees: Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling, Counseling/Guidance, Art Therapy).</span></span></span></span></li></ul><p><strong><u>Other Requirements:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably within a social services or community-based setting.</li><li>A minimum of two years of direct experience working with families and children in a shelter-based environment.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey respect, compassion, and empathy while producing clear, concise, and professional documentation and reports.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure efficient program operations.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, with working knowledge of relevant databases and case management systems being a significant plus.</li><li>Bi-lingual English and Spanish or Haitian Creole. <strong>Preferred</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Compensation</strong>: $62,400-$63,000 annually<br><em>When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program.
