Your Role
The Stellarus Commercial team builds the products to power Healthcare Payors through modern technology and AI. The Director of Platform Engineering and Tools will report to the VP, Platform Operations. In this role you will partner closely with our Application, Data, and AI teams to establish a technical foundation that accelerates the delivery of our products. This role is a key aspect of our ability to accelerate the changes needed in healthcare.
Our leadership model is about developing great leaders at all levels and creating opportunities for our people to grow – personally, professionally, and financially. We are looking for leaders that are energized by creative and critical thinking, building and sustaining high-performing teams, getting results the right way, and fostering continuous learning.

Your Work
In this role, you will:
Build and sustain a high-performance engineering culture rooted in empowerment, ownership, and continuous improvement, championing transformation at both the team and organizational level

Partner closely with senior leadership across Product, Product pricing, IT, and Security to align engineering strategy with business priorities, influencing roadmaps and organizational direction at the executive level
Drive the organization's DevSecOps evolution, modernizing application delivery pipelines using CI/CD, GitOps, and shift-left security practices, embedding a product mindset across engineering teams
Serve as an internal technology advocate, identifying emerging trends, evaluating their business impact, and partnering with architecture teams to champion adoption across the enterprise
Establish and maintain healthy engineering lifecycles across all areas of ownership, ensuring platforms remain current, secure, and fit for purpose
Establish an Enterprise Tools team that builds and supports tools such as Linear, Notion, and our ITSM suite that is to be determined
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, MIS, or High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree
10 years prior relevant experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or platform
6 years of prior people management experience with direct responsibility for supervising, coaching, and evaluating direct reports
Demonstrated success leading engineering organizations through DevSecOps and cloud transformation, including hands-on familiarity with CI/CD tooling, GitOps workflows, and modern release practices
Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), infrastructure automation, multi-cluster environments with an understanding of multi-tenancy and security
Track record of cross-functional influence, translating technical strategy into business value for non-technical stakeholders and building trusted relationships with senior leadership
Comfort operating in ambiguity, with a bias for action, structured thinking, and the ability to drive alignment across competing priorities
Preferred Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, MIS
Preferred 6 years leading technical teams — including at least 5 years managing multiple concurrent teams across diverse disciplines
