Our Ground Segment Team provide the digital backbone that enables safe, reliable, and autonomous space operations. As part of this team, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, building, and operating the infrastructure that supports mission‑critical services — from development all the way through to live operations in space.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 64, 0); font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Role</span></span></p>\n<p>The Ground Segment Software Developer will design, implement, and maintain mission-critical software used in spacecraft monitoring and commanding. This includes extending and operating the Mission Control System (MCS), implementing mission data flows, and building automation that enhances operational efficiency. You will work across<br>ClearSpace’s Mission Operations subsystems, contributing directly to the success of on-orbit activities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 64, 0); font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Develop and maintain the Mission Control System (MCS)</span></span><span>, ensuring reliability, performance, and alignment with mission requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span>Implement new Ground Segment software modules in <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Java</span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Python</span>.</span></li>\n<li><span>Support development of Mission Operations subsystems such as: </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>CFDP‑based file management chains</span></span></li>\n<li><span>Automated ingestion and archiving of image and binary data</span></li>\n<li><span>Workflow automation for telemetry processing and command preparation</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span>Work with system engineers to ensure requirements traceability and robust technical design.</span></li>\n<li><span>Debug and optimise critical Ground Segment services for operational readiness.</span></li>\n<li><span>Write documentation, configuration files, and operational guidelines to support long‑term maintenance.</span></li>\n<li><span>Collaborate in technical reviews, design discussions, and mission readiness activities</span><br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 64, 0); font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Must Have</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong proficiency in Java and Python.</li>\n<li>Good understanding of software engineering principles, testing, and documentation.</li>\n<li>Experience developing distributed or mission critical systems.</li>\n<li>Familiarity with Linux environments and standard development toolchains.<br><br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 64, 0); font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Nice to have</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience with </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SQL databases</span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">, schema design, or interfacing data layers with operational systems.</span></li>\n<li><span>Knowledge of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ground Segment TM/TC chains</span>, particularly <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CCSDS standards</span> including: </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>CFDP</span></span><span> (File Delivery Protocol)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>PUS</span></span><span> (Packet Utilisation Standard) services</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span>Understanding of telemetry processing, command pipelines, or mission control architectures.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Information about our data processing is set out in our <a href=\"https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YjlHRlWE9z2jetugzFUfxk-5nKDzZYps/view?usp=drive_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">candidate data privacy notice.</a></span></span></p>",
