An Electronics Engineer will typically be assigned to the design of battery electronics systems such as voltage, temperature, and current telemetry, cell balancing, communication buses, and safety disconnect systems using contactors or solid-state relays. Our products include a wide range of custom battery assemblies that contain Battery Management Systems (BMS), battery cells, electronics circuits, electrical connections, and mechanical/thermal structures.  This position reports to the Engineering Manager.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Interpret and manage customer and internal requirements as they relate to designing, testing, fielding, and sustaining compliant battery electronics systems.</li>\n <li>Develop battery electronics systems from first concept prototype through validation and qualification testing.</li>\n <li>Perform circuit design, analysis, simulation, and PCB layout around customer requirements to perform in harsh environments including vibration, shock, thermal cycling, humidity, corrosive atmospheres, and radiation.</li>\n <li>Perform design verification testing on PCB assembly prototypes, document results, and iterate on the design.</li>\n <li>Design measurement, analog signal conditioning, and A/D conversion circuits for various physical battery parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and time.</li>\n <li>Design and manage high current conduction paths from tens to hundreds of amperes for both battery charge and discharge.</li>\n <li>Perform and drive parts selection, screening, testing, and cost estimation in a military/aerospace environment with  stringent requirements for military and space rated components.</li>\n <li>Generate and maintain electronics engineering data deliverables such as drawings and PCB manufacturing data packages, compliance/verification matrices, FMEAs, electronics test reports, de-rating and parts stress analyses, current distribution analyses, reliability/MTBF analyses, etc.</li>\n <li>Perform root cause analysis and define and implement corrective actions in response to technical design, manufacturing, test, and performance issues.</li>\n <li>Generate and maintain product-focused ERP system data, such as Inventory Part records and Product Structures (indented BOMs).</li>\n <li>Perform hardware support tasks including troubleshooting of existing assemblies, selection and justification of alternate components or alternate component sources, qualification testing, documentation updates and corrections, and other hardware related tasks as may be required.</li>\n <li>Prepare and conduct presentations to peers, management, and external customers (written and oral).</li>\n <li>Participate in the review and preparation of proposals, when needed.</li>\n <li>Assist the Program Manager in identifying and mitigating risks to product quality, schedule, and cost.</li>\n <li>Other tasks as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>U.S. Persons</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field required</li>\n <li>Experience in AC to DC and/or DC to DC power conversion is preferred</li>\n <li>Knowledge of analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion is required</li>\n <li>Experience working with microcontrollers and serial communications protocols is required</li>\n <li>Experience in precision voltage and current measurement is preferred</li>\n <li>Experience in schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout is required; prior experience with Altium preferred</li>\n <li>Embedded software/firmware programming experience/capability preferred</li>\n <li>Experience designing for high reliability harsh environments preferred</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Solidworks and Solidworks PDM preferred</li>\n <li>Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001, DoD, NASA and IPC standards and quality requirements preferred</li>\n <li>Experience in development and maintenance of Engineering and Production documentation required</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office for data analysis, reduction, and presentation required</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills preferred</li>\n <li>Demonstrated self-starter and schedule-driven required</li>\n <li>Demonstrated attention to detail through accuracy and completeness of information required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PERKS OF BEING AN EAGLEPICHER EMPLOYEE</strong>Some of the great things about being an EaglePicher employee include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance;</li>\n <li>10 paid holidays and PTO;</li>\n <li>Matching 401K;</li>\n <li>Annual Profit Sharing;</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement;</li>\n <li>Dependent scholarship programs.</li>\n</ul>",
