Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! Join the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) in our mission to protect the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Appalachian region, ongoing since 1876. Our values encompass diversity, inclusivity, trust, and respect for the environment. As an employee, you'll gain access to enriching programs, policies, and procedures that enable you to drive real change. If you're ready to explore, protect, and create memories within a dynamic community, apply now to be a part of the AMC team!
Noble View Outdoor Center provides staff housing for AMC Southern New England seasonal trail crews, serving as a hub for trail volunteer programming and a training center for regional conservation partners. AMC is looking to fill two full-time, seasonal Camp Crew positions to support the 2026 season.
The Noble View Camp Crew staff will report directly to the resident Noble View Caretaker, to ensure that all Noble View operations are safe, efficient, and welcoming to guests and residents. The primary responsibilities for this job are to implement a food service plan to feed our seasonal trail crews, perform general housekeeping in communal living spaces and bathhouse, and assist in general groundskeeping responsibilities as necessary.
Communal housing and food is provided for this position. Camp crew will be expected to live on site. Exceptions can be considered for desirable candidates that live within a 30 minute drive of camp.
This position starts April 1st with two season length options (April through end of August, or end of October).
What you will be doing at AMC:
Food Service: The Camp Crew will manage all meal preparation and service under the direction of the Noble View Caretaker, to provide meals at scheduled times and grab and go options for seasonal trail crew employees
· Create, cook and serve appropriate menus for groups of various sizes (generally for 10-20, but at times reaching up to 30) using recipes for consistency, cost control, and appealing presentation, avoiding unnecessary waste.
· Know how to modify menus or provide alternatives to accommodate any food allergy or dietary restriction
· Order necessary food and supplies via in-store shopping and online ordering
· Maintain kitchen cleanliness, wash dishes etc.
· Adhere to all AMC, Massachusetts, and federal protocols for food service and facility sanitation.
· Open and set up the kitchen at the start of the season and pack up and close the kitchen at the end of the season.
Housekeeping: The Camp Crew share the primary responsibility for the cleanliness and sanitation at Noble View, which includes:
· Regularly cleaning the kitchen, restrooms, showers, dining spaces and common areas
· Washing dishes
· Trash and recycling removal
Grounds-keeping: The Camp Crew will assist with groundskeeping as necessary as a tertiary priority following food service and housekeeping responsibilities
· Assist Noble View Caretaker as needed with mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, and potential tractor running.
· Frequent use of a wide variety of hand tools and very occasional use of chainsaws
Other: Along with Noble View Trails Facility Coordinator, act as a leader and role model at the Noble View Trails Facility and enforce all community guidelines to protect and respect others who share the space
· Be responsible for obtaining, organizing, and packing crews’ hitch food Monday mornings
· Receive unused hitch supplies Thursday afternoons and sort accordingly.
· Consistently request feedback from staff and guests and implement improvements based on feedback.
· Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What AMC is looking for:
· Prior experience working in a commercial kitchen, professional cleaning or grounds-keep is preferred.
· The ability to be self-motivated and solution-oriented is essential.
· Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification upon hiring.
· Exceptional customer service, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a diverse team while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Flexibility with regard to schedule is required. Working on weekends, nights and holidays will be necessary. The work week is 40 hrs/week. Some workdays may be split into early morning and evening shifts.
· Commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive environment for all of Noble View's guests, employees, and constituents.
· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand and walk, bend, twist, and reach.
· Utilize step ladders and cleaning equipment.
What AMC can offer you:
Salary Range: $19-22/hr

· Insurance: Available with positions that are 6 months or longer and when working greater than 30 hours per week
