In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Plumber</span></p>\n<p>The Plumber responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of all plumbing systems and related infrastructure on-site.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Installation of Plumbing Systems:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Install, assemble, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and fittings for water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems in accordance with building codes and safety standards.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Routine Maintenance &amp; Repairs:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure functionality and efficiency.</span></li>\n<li><span>Identify issues such as leaks, clogs, or faulty components and carry out timely repairs.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Diagnose plumbing problems using specialized tools and techniques and determine the most effective solutions.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Water Heater and Pump Maintenance:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Install and service water heaters, pumps, valves, and pressure regulators as required by facility needs.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Compliance and Safety:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ensure all plumbing work complies with local codes, health and safety regulations, and company policies.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Emergency Response:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies, including burst pipes, blockages, and flooding incidents, minimizing downtime and water damage.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>System Upgrades:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to improve plumbing system efficiency and performance.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Documentation and Reporting:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and parts replaced.</span></li>\n<li><span>Report major issues or ongoing concerns to the maintenance supervisor or facility manager.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Collaboration and Support:</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Coordinate with other trades (e.g., electricians, carpenters) and departments during installation or repair projects.</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide plumbing support during construction, renovation, or relocation of facilities as needed.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Tool and Equipment Maintenance:</span></span></li>\n</ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ensure proper use, care, and storage of plumbing tools and equipment.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications/Skills and Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in Plumbing, maintenance, breakdown and installations</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Conditions</span></p>\n<p>Position based at the OKO Project site.<br>Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off<br>Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Compensation Package</span></p>\n<p>1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.<br>Competitive Salary<br>Competitive benefits, bonus and group insurances.</p>",
