We are a full-service law firm with a collaborative team environment and a wealth of opportunities for mentorship. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are looking for a Junior Construction Litigation Lawyer (Associate) to join our construction team within the firm’s Civil Litigation Department. We are seeking a professional self-starter with a strong work ethic who is able to manage the flow of files and meet the strict deadlines involved with construction law matters in our Barrie or Collingwood office. A strong background in drafting, analytical and research skills is essential.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario;</li>\n<li>have 2-3 years of litigation and/or construction litigation experience;</li>\n<li>have experience with drafting contracts and/or procurement documents;</li>\n<li>have a demonstrated track record of providing excellent client service; and</li>\n<li>have strong drafting, research, advocacy, and communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>preparing litigation documents;</li>\n<li>reviewing, preparing and assisting with negotiation of construction contracts;</li>\n<li>researching and analyzing case law to support legal advice;</li>\n<li>attending examinations for discovery, court appearances, arbitrations, adjudications, and mediations;</li>\n<li>assisting with or maintaining carriage of various construction disputes, including, but not limited to, contract preparation and negotiation, lien claims, breach of trust claims, deficiency claims, and procurement matters.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Please apply with a cover letter and resume through the \"apply for this job\" link on this job ad. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Come work for the first B Corp-certified law firm in Ontario.
