Our team of more than 1200 people work in environmental waste management and recovery, renewable energy, paving and construction, aggregates, and emulsions chemistries.&nbsp;We are a fifth-generation, family-owned company founded in 1887, operating from our base in the Niagara Region with facilities across Canada and the United States.&nbsp;We care about the environment, each other, and our neighbours, and give back to our communities.&nbsp;Join us on our journey to build a sustainable future, together.</p><p><strong>About the Job</strong></p><p>We are looking for a Licensed Millwright at our Walker Compost &amp; Packaging Facility in Arthur, ON.</p><p>Our millwrights perform preventive and curative maintenance on a wide variety of mobile and fixed plant equipment at our site in Arthur, ON.&nbsp;This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The wage for this position is $43.86/hour.</p><p><strong>What You'll Be Doing</strong></p><ul><li>Inspecting machinery and equipment to detect defects and irregularities.</li><li>Using welding equipment and power tools to fabricate parts during maintenance or set-up of machinery.</li><li>Interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings to follow work procedures.</li><li>Troubleshooting in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and requirements.</li><li>Repairing or replacing defective components using hand and power tools.</li><li>Designing, welding and manufacturing custom parts when needed.</li><li>Performing PMs.</li><li>Exercising good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs.</li><li>Demonstrating a strong commitment to established safety protocols and best work practices.</li></ul><p><strong>Here's What You Need</strong></p><ul><li>Millwright license, completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting.</li><li>Experience as a heavy duty equipment mechanic (421A) is an asset.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly.&nbsp; Keeping accurate records.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation.</li><li>Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.</li></ul><p><strong>We run three shifts:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Days – Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.&nbsp;</li><li>Afternoons – Monday to Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.&nbsp;</li><li>Weekends – Friday to Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>What’s in it for you&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>You become part of a team you can count on</li><li>A comprehensive total rewards package and benefits to support your wellbeing</li><li>Leaders who support your growth and success</li><li>A workplace that provides the best health &amp; safety practices in industry</li><li>Give back to your community with two paid volunteer days annually and opportunities to become involved in events</li></ul><p>At Walker, your contribution matters.
