Reports directly to Transportation Coordinator.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ol>\n<li>Inspects vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions daily and provides written documentation of each inspection.</li>\n<li>Drives vehicle to transport patients to and from the health center or other health facilities with pick up at the patients residence.</li>\n<li>Represents the organization with positive and professional interactions.</li>\n<li>Adheres to all traffic laws and regulations in a conscientious and safe manner.</li>\n<li>Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for patient comfort.</li>\n<li>Assists patients boarding and exiting vehicle, if necessary.</li>\n<li>Ensures vehicle is clean and well-maintained at all times.</li>\n<li>Makes deliveries and pick-ups of health related packages and documents.</li>\n<li>Maintains records of patient pick-up and drop-off times, trips and miles driven.</li>\n<li>Reports any vehicle malfunctions to supervisor and fleet management.</li>\n<li>Works to promote cooperative staff efforts to provide and maintain high quality service to patients, physicians and other staff to assure quality patient care.</li>\n<li>Communicates effectively with patients to provide information and assistance.</li>\n<li>Upholds and promotes the value and integrity of the Seneca Nation Health System’s mission statement. Will promote SNHS in a positive manner.</li>\n<li>Provides care through a trauma-informed lens by incorporating key principles of both physical and psychological environment safety, trustworthiness and transparency, collaboration of decision-making during treatment plan developments, empowerment of patients by recognizing and building upon individual strengths, as well as recognizing and respecting the diversity of cultural backgrounds and sensitivity.</li>\n<li>Participates and completes all mandatory staff meetings, trainings, and in-services.</li>\n<li>Follows all policies and procedures of the department, SNHS, and Seneca Nation.</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, &amp; ABILITIES:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and its operation.</li>\n<li>Able to communicate with the public.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid and clean N.Y.S. Class E (livery/taxi) driver’s license OR CDL with Passenger endorsement, required.</li>\n<li>Two (2) years of previous experience in commercial driving, such as school bus driving or paratransit, is preferred.</li>\n<li>Ability to lift heavy objects, as some passengers may require assistance with mobility devices.</li>\n<li>Minimum age of 21 years due to insurance requirements.</li>\n<li>Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.</li>\n<li>Must have a current (within 30 days) driving abstract.</li>\n<li>Must pass the SNI NTSI class after a successful 90 probation period.</li>\n<li>Experience in a large hospital, academic medical center, outpatient health care setting, or Indian Health Service (IHS)/tribal health, preferred.</li>\n</ul>",
