Gateway Center is staffed by dedicated, caring, and respectful providers who prove everyday that with a little understanding and patience every member of our community can live a full and satisfying life with dignity and respect.</p><p><br></p><p>We are looking for a Community ADC Instructor for our Day Program located at 850 Congress Ave, Pacific Grove.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Openings:</strong></p><p>Monday through Friday 8:30-2:30pm for our Pacific Grove facility</p><p><strong>POSITION:</strong> Community ADC Program Instructor</p><p><strong>REPORTS TO: </strong>Day Program Director</p><p><br></p><p><strong>PRINCIPLE DUTIES</strong></p><p>Provides direct care, training and supervision to the Individuals served.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES</strong></p><ul><li>Provides specific training of Individuals served using the program curriculum</li><li>Assist in personal care needs of the consumers (Activities of Daily Living Skills)**</li><li>Assists in the development and implementation of behavior management programs**</li><li>Ensures compliance of the Individuals served rights</li><li>Ensures safe environment for Individuals served</li><li>Embodies and demonstrates Gateway Center’s Individual-based values and philosophies</li><li>Complies with organizational policies and procedures</li><li>Provides thorough and effective communication with other staff and supervisor</li><li>Attends in-service training, maintains current CPR and First Aid certification**</li><li>Participates in ISP meetings and staff meetings</li><li>Complies with Gateway Center’s safety standards and infectious disease control standards</li><li>Communicates thoroughly and effectively with other departments and Program Directors, Gateway Center consultants, SARC Service Coordinators, outside agencies , and the families/care providers of the Individuals served</li><li>Handles Individuals served concerns in an effective and timely manner</li><li>Ensures Active Treatment is being implemented to the Individuals served</li><li>Ensures orientation of new Individuals, handles Individuals served concerns in an effective and timely manner</li><li>Assists in the development of Individual served goals and objectives</li><li>Completes daily and thorough documentation of Individuals served goals, objectives, progress notes, behavior data collection, etc.</li><li>Assists with planning and coordinates activities in accordance with the program schedule</li><li>Mandated Reporter of any suspected abuse, as defined by Department of Social Services form SOC 314A, of dependent Adults and Elders will be reported to Community Care Licensing in addition to San Andreas Regional Center, Adult Protective Services and/or local law enforcement.</li><li>Ensures Person-Centered Planning is being implemented with the Individuals served in the Community ADC Program</li><li>Completes all other duties as assigned by the Senior ADC Program Manager</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Education &amp; Experience:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Must be 18 years old or older</li><li>Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent education</li><li>Two-plus years' experience is usually preferred</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>·Physical, mental, and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position</li><li>Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions.</li><li>Ability perform under stressful situations</li><li>Ability to insure the safety and welfare of an individual with physical, medical or behavioral challenges</li><li>Vision sufficient to read handwritten and printed materials, and the display screen of various office equipment and machines</li><li>Hearing sufficient to communicate in person and hold telephone conversations in normal range (approximately 60 decibels)</li><li>Physical agility to sit, stand, kneel, walk, push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, and to reach overhead</li><li>Physical stamina sufficient to sustain light physical labor for up to 8 hours, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time</li><li>Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment for sustained periods of time on hard flooring, climb slopes, stairs, ramps, and to respond to emergency situations.
