Monday - Thursday 2:30pm-1:00am
Pay: $18/hr
JOB SUMMARY:
The Machine Operator Digital is essential to the manufacturing of high-quality fan merchandise. Under general supervision, the Machine Operator Digital will work individually or as part of a team that will finish or produce a large volume of product in any of the Digital Machine work centers. The work of other production athletes on the line/work center is dependent upon this team member as the primary machine specialist. May include digital and/or manual set up including Printing, Laser, Router, CNC, Multi-Head Embroidery, Cutting, and other digital machines. May simultaneously run one to three machines during any given shift. Generally, a physically demanding role that requires keeping pace with a machine or line. The successful athlete must be able to accurately count correct quantities, inspect and report quality issues and consistently follow customer specification within order instructions. Machine Operator Digital Production Athletes will be assigned in varying work centers and it is essential that they are prepared to report to secondary work centers or building locations as directed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Reads and follows specific instructions given on shop packets. Verify art files and color copies match product design, specifications and customer requirements.
Utilizes FMS to accurately document work processes including check out and in of work orders and/or materials, scrap, and rework functions.
Coordinate needed materials to produce orders. Monitors raw material inventories and ink inventory and places replenishment orders accordingly. Maintains and organizes raw material floor stock inventory including cycle counting as needed.
Set up, inspect, adjust and test run machine for each order – may need to determine settings, guards, belts, lenses and align mirrors, needles, color balance, ink coverage, etc. according to machine and order specifications.
Completes digital set-ups including modification of EPS files from Art Department, downloading correct files from server, and communicates directly with Art department to resolve art file issues in order to meet customer and software requirements. Assists Art with the color profiling of the machine.
Determine the number of pieces to run to meet customer requirements and achieve maximum material utilization.
Meet all production standards on all digital work centers, ensuring high quality throughout the production run – catch errors at the earliest possible stage to minimize rework.
Monitors machine, processes and product output to ensure quality, accuracy, color, quantities, and maintain efficiency throughout processes. Consults appropriate leadership and maintenance with recommended adjustments as needed.
Responsible for measuring and meeting set production rates. Assists Supervisor with the capture of metrics and deliverables.
Monitor and support co-workers by helping to set up and tear down presses, wipe contaminates from product, load and unload jigs, and bulk pack printed product, and other support tasks with a goal of improving efficiency and thru put.
Performs all preventative maintenance for machines and equipment.
Performs basic trouble-shooting and contacts Maintenance Techs as required for support with advanced troubleshooting needs.
May Create dies using computerized files and maintain proper storage when not in active use.
Performs general housekeeping, department 5S and other Continuous Improvement activities.
Adheres to all Department and Company Standards, Operating Procedures and Safety Requirements.
Treats others with respect and conducts themselves in a positive and inclusive manner daily.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL & Experience REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1 or more years of digital equipment operation or technical digital maintenance highly preferred
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Close attention to detail required
Ability to read, understand shop packet information and follow written instruction
Digital technology and mechanical knowledge sufficient to complete equipment setup and adjustments
Advanced computer aptitude required, including database management and digital file management
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to complete repetitive tasks
Advanced math skills needed to convert percentages, pounds, grams, ounces, etc.
Ability to make accurate measurements and complete mathematical computations
Ability to inspect materials and finished products for defects
Ability to learn and apply accurate PMS Color matching knowledge and distinguish between similar shades of color
Ability to use positives to determine the correct sequence of colors considering trap, color, halftones, metallic, etc.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Good analytical ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot and make decisions
Ability to calmly and efficiently operate up to three digital machines simultaneously.
Maintain current certifications:
Bloodborne pathogens
PIT
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to visually detect a full spectrum of colors
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Ability to participate in a team lift of 50 lbs.
Able to stand and/or walk for entire shift
Able to kneel, bend or turn
Able to grip/grasp continuously
Able to push a cart
Able to climb a ladder and stairs
WORKING CONDITIONS:
May work in a high noise environment
May work indoors in a warm, humid environment
