    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About This Role:</span></p>\n<p>Cardinal is seeking a PLS to join our dynamic and growing team. As a PLS, you will be responsible for proper scheduling, budget, contract, and client interaction for all projects in your service area.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities: </span></p>\n<p> As a PLS, you will:</p>\n<p>·         Oversee management of project budgets, estimates, cost control, and schedules.</p>\n<p>·         Oversee the production department of surveyors and CAD Techs.</p>\n<p>·         Prepare client invoices, deliverables, and project-related correspondence.</p>\n<p>·         Schedule fieldwork, office work, and project deliverables.</p>\n<p>·         Establish deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize the progress of projects.</p>\n<p>·         Act as a representative for senior stakeholders at internal and external meetings.</p>\n<p>·         Report project cost and quality control activities to the client.</p>\n<p>·         Prepare contract change orders and supplemental agreements and monitor project budgets.</p>\n<p>·         Planning, directing, and coordinating operations, including project managers, staff surveyors, techs, and field operations.</p>\n<p>·         Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance with the scope and timely completion.</p>\n<p>·         Responsible for accuracy, timeliness, and financial performance of assigned projects.</p>\n<p>·         Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients.</p>\n<p>·         Evaluate policy and procedures to ensure all deliverables are done accurately and using the most efficient method.</p>\n<p>·         Responsible for survey calculations, analysis and final map checking, review of title data, record drawings research, and client relations.</p>\n<p>·         Collaborate with project team members, including other licensed surveyors, engineers, and technical and survey staff.</p>\n<p>·         Review and process the results of field surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features and structures.</p>\n<p>·         Verify the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.</p>\n<p>·         Sign and seal survey documents.</p>\n<p>·         Perform business development activities, proposal preparation, project management, and final quality control for all survey deliverables.</p>\n<p>·         Manage surveying department staff and schedules.</p>\n<p>·         Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes. Acting safely at all times.</p>\n<p>·         Participate in or conduct and document safety meetings with the crew daily. Host or assist with morning safety meetings. Bring safety and proper working procedure topics up as reminders and ensure all workers are comfortable with the tasks assigned to them by reviewing their day plan.</p>\n<p>·         Mentor and train more experienced employees in proper company standards and ensure they are helping to mentor less-skilled workers in proper company standards.</p>\n<p>·         Manage and maintain relationships with vendors who supply field tools and supplies.</p>\n<p>·         Maintain firm standards for the preparation of survey and mapping documents.</p>\n<p>·         Provide technical direction and oversight to survey staff regarding approach and resolution of office/field conflicts.</p>\n<p>·         Review timesheets for billing accuracy and approve through accounting software. Manage and approve time-off requests and schedule accordingly.</p>\n<p>·         Motivate, organize, and supervise managers and employees under their direction.</p>\n<p>·         Conduct performance reviews of employees under their supervision.</p>\n<p>·         Assist HR in personnel decisions regarding hiring, compensation, training, promotions, discipline, and termination of all staff directly and indirectly under their supervision.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">EDUCATION:</span> Graduation from high school or GED. equivalent is required. Additional college coursework or apprenticeship is highly desirable. An advanced degree is preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">EXPERIENCE:</span> Minimum of five years of land surveying experience and at least two years at a senior level management position.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">KNOWLEDGE OF:</span></p>\n<p>·         Civil 3D, preferred</p>\n<p>·         Carlson Civil Suites – IntelliCAD, preferred</p>\n<p>·         Office management practices and procedures</p>\n<p>·         Client communication and customer service via email, phone, or in-person</p>\n<p>·         Project and field crew staff management and evaluation</p>\n<p>·         Government, Commercial, Residential and Retail Projects</p>\n<p>·         Business development, including proposal generation and contract review</p>\n<p>·         Sokkia, Trimble Total Station, Data Collectors</p>\n<p>·         Mathematical calculations and measurement errors</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: </span></p>\n<p>·         Valid driver’s license with insurable record</p>\n<p>·         Professional Surveying License for NC (SC in addition preferred) </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SKILLS/ABILITIES:</span></p>\n<p>·         Must have essential requirements: professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.</p>\n<p>·         Must have strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities.</p>\n<p>·         Must have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects.</p>\n<p>·         Must read and interpret field notes, engineering plans, and construction documents.</p>\n<p>·         Must perform deed and utility research and compile record information such as record maps, legal descriptions, utility information, and right of way data.</p>\n<p>·         Must perform calculations and instructions for fieldwork and construction stakeout.</p>\n<p>·         Must provide solutions to civil site design challenges.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements:</span></p>\n<p>The physical demands described herein are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential function of this job successfully:</p>\n<p>·         Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally.</p>\n<p>·         Must be able to drive a vehicle safely.</p>\n<p>·         Must be able to work in inclement weather.</p>\n<p>·         Must be able to deal effectively and reasonably with stress in the workplace without lost time or undue strain.</p>\n<p>·         Must be able to sit, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods of time.</p>\n<p>·         Must be able to type/key-in data and answer telephones frequently as needed.</p>\n<p>·         Must have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.</p>\n<p>·         Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.</p>\n<p>·         Must be able to wear personal protective gear regularly/occasionally.</p>\n<p>·         Physical ability includes bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs.</p>\n<p>·         Must adhere to company policies, safety plan, and the project safety plan.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About Us:</span></p>\n<p>Cardinal Civil Resources (“CCR”) is a fun, productive business dedicated to the success of our employees, clients, and our communities.
