Our mission is to empower individuals and families to redefine their futures through evidence-based, culturally responsive treatment and support.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor provides comprehensive assessment, counseling, case management, relapse prevention, and recovery support services to clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. The Counselor will use evidence-based practices, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches to support client recovery and stabilization. This position requires compliance with Maryland state credentialing requirements and ethical standards established by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (BOPC).</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Conduct <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">comprehensive biopsychosocial and SUD assessments</span> using ASAM criteria to determine level of care and service needs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Develop <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">individualized treatment plans</span> based on assessed needs, client goals, and strengths.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Provide <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">individual, group, and family counseling</span> utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Relapse Prevention.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups on recovery topics (e.g., triggers, coping skills, relapse prevention).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, ensuring <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">documentation meets COMAR and Joint Commission standards</span>.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, licensed clinicians, PRP staff, and case managers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Conduct <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">crisis intervention and coordination of care</span> when necessary.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Maintain accurate and timely documentation within TheraNest or the agency’s electronic health record (EHR).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Participate in weekly supervision, clinical team meetings, and professional development opportunities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Adhere to all <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">HIPAA, COMAR, and Maryland Board of Professional Counselors regulations</span> and RTFNetwork policies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Promote a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">recovery-oriented, culturally competent, and trauma-informed care environment</span> that supports client empowerment and dignity.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Education &amp; Licensure (Maryland Requirements):</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Must hold at least one of the following active credentials recognized by the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (BOPC):</span></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Certified Supervised Counselor – Alcohol &amp; Drug (CSC-AD)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Certified Associate Counselor – Alcohol &amp; Drug (CAC-AD)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Licensed Graduate Alcohol &amp; Drug Counselor (LGADC)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Licensed Clinical Alcohol &amp; Drug Counselor (LCADC)</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Candidates actively pursuing certification or licensure (with Board-approved supervision) may be considered.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Must meet <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">COMAR 10.58.07</span> training and education requirements for substance use disorder professionals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">At least <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">one year of experience</span> providing counseling or case management to individuals with substance use or co-occurring disorders.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Experience working in an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">outpatient behavioral health</span> or community mental health setting preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Demonstrated ability to conduct group and individual counseling sessions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Proficiency in electronic documentation systems (TheraNest preferred).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;
